3-9x50 fit Gamo, stock mounts???
« on: August 09, 2009, 11:21:02 AM »
Hey guys, I need some expert tech advice. I have a Gamo,Viper .177 cal. It came with the scope mounts and scope. They are one piece mounts. I dont know if they are low, medium or high mount rings. But what I want to do is get a Leapers,5th Gen. 3-9x50 scope with the adjustable objective and flip open scope covers. I wonder if it will fit for the barrel? It has and came with a full size 3-9x40,and has bout 1/2" of clearance with the 40 objective. But I know the adjustable objective alone makes the diameter bigger not counting the flip up covers.I was hoping someone here has tryed before. I will just get a 3-9x40 exact same type if it wont fit. By the way if anyone wants a full size 3-9x40 illum reticle,mil-dot NC Star scope it will be for sale soon as I get my Leapers. And I am bout afraid the Leapers has some shoes to fill, them NC Star are very hard to beat for the price. I will probably post it on the classifieds tonight or tomorrow it will be very cheap.AKJC1977 :D

If your Gamo has a riser you can probably get by with a medium mount with a BSA or Bushy. Any others I think you would need a high mount for it. If no riser is there then for sure a high mount.
THE ONES I SLEEP WITH: BSA Lightning XL, AA TX-200, AA ProSport, BSA Ultra, HW-97K, Crosman NPSS .177, FX Cyclone, HW-30 Nicle Plated, AA-S200, Crosman Marauder, CZ-634, R-9 DG, Webley/Scott UK Tomahawk, Benji Kantana, Benji Marauder, Benji Discovery.....

Thanks for reply Gene. It does have the riser under the one piece scope rings. I dont know the specs on these airgun rings,so I dont know what is what,I may have low or may have high for all I know. I will just go with a 40mm obj. Thanks anyway, hope to get up with ya round the 23 rd bout that turbo tune. AKJC1977
