Hoppes Lube (#9 on the orange bottle)

Can anyone offer any insight on this product. I cleaned out my Storm XT and went back with this lube. After lubing the spring, I let the rifle sit upright on its butt for about 48 hours without touching it.

It seems to have settled the rifle down alot. I just ordered a 1-pc scope mount for the rifle to combat the god-awful

scope creep, but the it seems as though the scope has stopped creeping back so much. Could this be because of the

lube...Is it that good?

I'd suggest NOT using that. Pretty soon as the oil creeps into the compression chamber it'll start dieseling pretty badly. Detonation is also possible.

Hoppe's #9 is OK for the pivot and the trigger, but nothing else really. Unless it's going to be used in a CO2 gun.
