I'm All Alone
« on: August 16, 2009, 05:09:27 AM »

My wife left today with the kids to go on vacation with her sisters and their familys.
It is the last chance they have for some sumer fun before they start back
to school next week. My job will not allow me to take more than 3 dyas off at a time
and this was sprung on me to late to be able to go myself.

So with a smile on my face, and a tear in my heart, I hugged the kids and kissed the wife good by.
I told them to be safe, have fun and I will miss ya. I feel like my life just left me.
I must be getting old......  Now what am I going to do for a week. I wont have the little youngens
around to get on my nerves and tell em them to be quiet. I love em and many time wish they would be quiet
and go somewhere else for a while, but.......

With them gone, it is an anxious peace.

lol....well its just the opposite here in san diego, for the past couple weeks, my quiet household of five has been the "extended family" gathering spot. we pretty much doubled the amount of kids and adults here.
nice to have guests, but when you get old and crotchety like me,.............theres much to be said about peace and quiet...

I am in the same boat.  My wife and daughter who does not live at home are gone till next Sunday. My cortisol levels should drop with reduced stress.  It would be party time but I have no desire to clean up the mess. I had my party time years ago.   I have job and chores to do and if I have time left over I will just organize my allen wrenches which is really a full time job. Long about the time I get used to it they will be back.

Thanks to all.

I have been relaxing and shooting.
Today I shot for a couple hours or more with the Maudy.
I almost wore a blister on my shoulder before stopping.

Timbo, The hammer was backed all the way up like yours already.
I didn't turn the preload in. I was throwing those cphp steady in the 9-teen area and accurately.
That tape trick really did help with the cphp accuracy.

I tried a wide assortment of pellets and the best, coming in at  at 30fpe was the Beeman Kodiak extra heavy's at 21.1.
1 group was1/2 inch due to a flyer, the other two were like 1/4+.

The CPhp's 14.3 were the next best at 26fpe, constant 1/2 to 3/4 group.

third best was the jsb 15.8, slightly bigger than the cphp. coming in at almost 27fpe.

All my groupings were 10 shot groups at 20 yards.
