Spring honey-do lists...
« on: February 22, 2007, 02:09:23 PM »
Well, despite a couple of inches of new snow today, spring is definitely on it's way.  Last weekend, the wife and I sat down with a calendar and came up with my "hit the ground running after the thaw" project list.  Man, just looking at this thing makes me tired!  Between now and the end of April, my list consists of the following:

Put up about 2000 feet of 6 foot deer fencing.
Install an irrigation system, 2500' of pipe, 75 or so sprinkler heads, controller, etc.
Plant some fruit trees.
Prep for a garden.
Plant a garden.
We have chickens coming- build 2 brooders, and a chicken coop, plus more fencing.
Plant 30,000 sq. ft. of pasture.

That's the biggies, I also have 4 vehicles that need regular attention, 2 collies, house and shop repairs and maintenance, a sick motorcycle, a sick boat, and an older Airstream travel trailer that needs some TLC and cleaning to get ready to sell.  Oh yeah, and I also need to make a living in my spare time :-)!  This really cuts into my shooting time!  I guess it's a good thing I don't have as many rifles as Gene or Jeff, I'd be so busy shooting I'd never get anything done :-)!  Good thing the Beeman will get here next week, if it came much later, I wouldn't be able to shoot it 'til next winter.

So who else has has a never-shrinking honey-do list?  And what kind of projects are on it?  Later.

Dave

God Bless us All,

We married men suffer so, as they say "Married men work from sun till it's done"

No rest for the weary.

I never let my wife make up a list, I told her if she did I get so depressed that I'd just shoot myself, and if I didn't feel better tomorrow, I'd shoot myself again !

Worked so far, 31 years ! GO DO IT !

I make out a Ed do list and cover the honey- do's that way it's done before she ask. Inside of house is done, paint, hardwood floors and little fix-it's. Outside need's paint, plant veggie garden and of course plant flower's and maintain yard. After that work on and in my shop which half of it has been converted to a air rifle section, no I'm not addicted hehe. Atlast, air rifle hunt and buy more air rifle's. Did I say that I dont have a air rifle problem hehe. Ed

I do keep pretty busy most of the time .My wife work and as you know, I'm retired....kinda...  Gene came by yesterday morning for another day of tutoring and we went to lunch. While we were gone, UPS dropped off a couple of guns and after I was finally able to get Gene out of my hair (Fritz eventually ran him off) I got started on them and worked until 11:30 last night and will finish up with them later today. Nope....no honey do list for me very often and  I don't really need any. Between keeping the house up which is really easy for us to do cuz their is just the two of us....and Gene.... 8) and the GRT orders and tune business and e-mails, I keep busy enough.

Charlie,

The fact that I was too busy never stops my wife.

She finds new and different things for me to do, with every magazine she reads. Hell I even stopped her subscriptions, but she went out and bought even more magazines.

That's when I put my foot down, and started on that dam list.

God help us all !

Ain't that the truth, but try and tell them you're too busy, and you get the "oh, this will only take a minute, dear" answer.  Which may be true, but it does'nt factor in the day and half spent gathering up tools, material, etc.  And did you forget there's always the Internet?  I think the only answer is to turn back the clock about 200 years, when men ruled the house, and women were kept barefoot, pregnant, and illiterate :-)!  And PLEASE do NOT let any women see this!  Serious bad Karma here....
