NEW GAMO SOCOM MODEL RIFLES OUT!!!!!

Hey Shooter's, I just went to Gamo usa to check on a wood stock I ordered and noticed they have new models out. The SOCOM extreme,1,650fps-PBA,1250fps-lead ( I'm assuming its just a Hunter extreme reciever on one bad ass synthetic stock) They also have a SOCOM tactical,and SOCOM carbine models. The stocks have adjustable cheek weld pads and say SOCOM on them. Supposed to have a good Gamo scope on em. The retail price on there is $524.00 so I assume they will be in the same range as the Hunter extreme. Man I like those stocks, be awesomw if they would fit other Gamo guns. I really dont know for sure they are just dressed up extreme's but I'd say they are. Go check em out if this is not old news,have not heard anything on here yet.AKJC1977

Same power plant  as the Gamo Hunter Extreme and Gamo Hunter 1250. Just a different stock variant..

I figured you would be the first to see that post and educate us. Have they been out for a while? What is your opinion on the hunter exterme? I just dont hear much bout them on here. Most customer reviews say they tear up often?AKJC1977

Well Jason, the Hunter Extreme and Hunter 1250 are two very powerful sprihgers. Up to 58 lbs cocking effort and are excellent hunting tools. I actually owned one of the first Hunter 1250's that was made in England. Since I have sold or traded it to Ed aka Shadow.

I have tuned a few of them but had to custom make the seals for them. The spring you cannot buy from Gamo and JM does not make a direct replacement for them, but there is a spring he does make that is comparable and works well. My problem is the labor to do a tune on them plus I cannot cock one more than one or two times before my shoulders start hurting. Even when I put the butt on the ground and use my body weight to help cock it can be very distressing after a couple cocking sessions. When I tune springers I cock them eleven times prior to tuning them and eleven times after tuning them. So you can see why I do not tune them..

A full powered Hunter Extreme, Hunter 1250 is a true hunting air gun. I am not quite sure how the recoil would be on a synthetic model. The wood stocks do take up quite a bit of the recoil on the previous versions.

And I love the 1250 from Gene, she's been my main hunter lately and the critters fear her when she's on the prowl.   I wonder if they will be selling the stock to those shooters also, would be great to put one of my camo job's on it. I don't want to cover the beautiful wood stock on her now and,,,oh I would need two of those stock's one with summer camo and one with winter camo.   Ed

I hear ya shadow, I'd say give em a call bout those stocks. I ordered a hunter 440 end cap by phone,but they dont offer it  on Gamo usa parts. I painted my Viper olive drab already,and soon as I get that wood stock I plan on trying some schemes myself. I am not artistic,but I think I can find some maple leaves and what not to make it happen.  And as for Gene I will come cock them guns for ya if you will teach me something,just kiddin unfortunately, I'm down here in Kentucky. At which I dont think anyone gets into airguns, as many Hunters as we have and folks around here  think I'm crazy when I tell them people tune pellet guns.AKJC1977
