Possible broken Spring
« on: February 25, 2007, 12:20:40 PM »
Hey, guys, I think the spring broke in my S1K. Felt a little funny cocking it the last few shots last time I shot it. Today had trouble knocking over a "Rhino" type field target at 18 yards, Here's  a couple of pics. Let me know what you think.

Definitely what I thought, Ed :o  Maybe CDT or Rich can give the deadly diagnosis. This is after about 2200 pellets. Guess I BROKE it in, huh? I did want to get it tuned, just not this soon! Now I'll have to wait for the IRS return, if my son's hospital bill doesn't take it all.

True, Mike. I've got time to think about it. Got to get my son well first.

Alway's good to dig into it and learn how it function's, that's what I did with my first springer. Mistakes and all I learned as I went, good luck. Ed :)

Hehe, I look at the "other" forum myself from time to time, especially the classifieds and Chinese.  Some good guys there, just a few that ruin it for the rest.  Even as a moderator here I've yet to be banned, but then I almost never post, just read.  Here's the link I use to get to that other forum:

Gene, other than the first tin of Daisy wadcutters and pointed,  I've shot nothing but CPL's, and Daystate FT's(8.4). About 2200 altogether so far. Getting a lube kit and a couple of stock springs from Rich, so may have it going again by next weekend. Making a spring compressor tomorrow. Lots of good designs posted on all the forums. I'll look through my metal stash and figure out which style fits what I have on hand; that's what I did when I made my field targets.
