Anyone else pull all nighters?
« on: February 25, 2007, 10:55:11 PM »
I have been up sence 8am the 25th. Been quite behind on school work and hangin out with the old lady too has made it quite a restless pass few days. So got about 6 assingments and a few white papers written. But have primairly been running on caffine and energy drinks. Anyone else do this for the sake of getting things done, or are most of you a daylight doer's?

Feels pretty good to get caught up on one subject. But the only downside is I have 3 more "subjects" to do work for. One of them is a sociology class. TONS OF NOTES jesus this teacher never lets up. We have probably 10 pages of notes per class aswell as 30-40 terms to define. SO im behind a few chapters on that also, but no sweat caffine to the rescue.

Dont know if these were questions for you all, rants, or just being wired on caffine and cant sleep so i had ot find somehting to occupy my time for about 2 minuets before getting back to the grind.

Well later all!!

Hey Jason,

Hang in there,,,, before you know it you'll be graduating and all this will be behind you.

I do all nighters all the time,,,,, I've been working steady 10 hour midnight shifts at work for the past 16 years so I know how those hours can get wreak havoc with your internal systems. As a result of my schedule I've pretty much adopted a "night time" lifestyle even when I'm not working.  Except f course when it's huntin time,, then I'm up at the crack of dawn and wide awake.   I agree with Bill,,,, don't overdue the coffee thing,,,,, it'll come back to bite you in the end.

Good luck with your studies.

Jeff

Yes I should be graduating soon from college this semester... its really kinda crazy with some of the teachers. They dont really teach anything they are just "score recorders". I have one teacher on wednesday nites. Makes us read about 3-4 chapters, then hands out a worksheet. You get to work in a group to do it then you go home. So what was learned? I could have read the book at home on my own time and got the same out of it.
I have a class tonite that is uber boring, novell database admin. Good god its teaching us how to arrange folders. :sigh:

Oh well I took a break from the books for awhile and built a spring compressor, and rebuilt my gun. Has a nice kick to it and defenatly feels better now.  So that kind of makes me fairly happy that it worked atleast 8)

Later all,

Jason

Hey Jason, anything with computer progamming is boring... hehe. I know because I did it for years... hehe.. I always had more fun with System Admin work than with data bases and progamning.. lol

Good Luck

Did it as a student many times...as a young man, would go out all night and then go into work the next day without seeing home...and as an old guy, will occaionally pick up the evening and over night shift and end up working 24 straight.

Which pretty well explains why (1) this is wife #2 and (2) I look a good 15 years older than i am.

I worked night shift for the better part of my adult life, with the exception being my current employer.  I can stay awake at will pretty much anymore, except for afternoons.  Give me a nice big couch and an empty house, poof!!! I'm out cold!!!

Pretty much can sleep at will also now that I think about it.  I used to sleep on top of airplane drop tanks in the military.  A drop tank is like a cigar shaped fuel tank that is hung from the wing of an S-3 Viking, or on the belly of an A-6 Intruder.  Anyways, we'd take them oiff for maintenance and such, and we'd usually have one sitting in the shop.  I'd just grab my float coat, ball it up for a pillow, and climb on top, and go to sleep.  Funny I never rolled off:)
