My project gun is finished so far.
« on: February 26, 2007, 11:48:57 AM »
during my trouble times, i was working on a modification for my TF 79. I had ordered a thumbhole stock, QB 79 parts ie. main tube and tank block.
the modification was to be able to run a 12 co2 tank instead of the 9 oz or air source tanks, and to use a full length shroud on the little lady.

the R&D  went smooth and the machining went ok. The measurements I took did not match the main tube I was going to use, So the old saying to measure twice  and cut once really means something. I have measured the main tube from a standard QB, a tech force 79 and the Qb-79 tube each one was different.

here's the pic of the riser I though of and made , it is sitting aobut 1/4 of ainch above the main tube.

Here's the picture of the gun with the 12oz c02 and full shroud

the guns is shooting gamo hunters @ 841 fps 13 fpe. The gun is shot all you hear is the hammer hitting the valve and the impact of the pellet.

Now if I can find someone to take this over and manufacture them, with my premission. I sure we can work something out  :)

Hey Wallis

That sure looks impressive... How much do you think it weighs with full tank and scope on it? How long is it compared to the QB 78. Love the thumbhole stock, and especially the shortness of the stock.

Would you be interested in sending me that Beta and let me test it this spring and summer...:)

The gun weights about 1 lb heavier than the regular 9 oz tank. The shroud adds about 3 inchaes to the total length.

I will let you know about the testingit for me.  :o

Ya know I could really go nuts with that stock.  Chop here, add a chunk of wood there, sand, shape, mold, glue more wood, cut more wood off...I could make you an alien space gun!

changed up some other parts on this gun.I have managed to get it to shoot in the low 900's now, using gamo hunters. The bigger bottle has improved the shot count so far Ihave shot about 200 round on one tank, I might get in the 300 with it. I  will test more this weekend.

Was That Gun A Standard QB78 Before You Started Your Work ?

You said you chopped the stock, was it a 78 to begin with ?

Could you have done the same with a 79 ?

Thanks Bill
