A big thanks to....
« on: August 31, 2009, 10:08:58 AM »
Bro' Daved, Bro' T-Cups,..and my dear friend MikeinIowa!!!! I got home today,...and it was a rather long day I might add,....And tried out some of your suggestions from the Chroney thread. I thought I had a piece of paste board laying around,...but discovered I'd used it as a zeroing target,...but I did light it up the best I could,...and withouta solid barrel rest,..this is what I did, I set up my chroney stop,...with the croney in front of it,....then I used a Michelob beer bottle box layed on it's side, with a 75 watt bulb in a heat-lamp shadeover the middle of the chrony diffussures ( splurged on the Wheat ale variety 12 pack this weekend,...had too ya know),...and ran a few through it. I was getting 1250's for about 5 shots,...and a 13something once or twice,...WTH I thought,...so I loaded another 8.8Cro mag out the door of my shop and ran a few more at the 18 yard set-up,.....You could hear the crack of a super-sonic pellet flying each time. Still not convinced though. So I placed the chroney on the picnic table,....with the natural light of mother nature, Iran a few more tthrough it with the BeerBox rest,....sure enough,...same Fps readings,...1250's. I'll admit I put her through a pretty rough work out last night,...but I'll leave that for another thread in the China Gate!!!Again,.. a super big thanks fella's foryour imput on my chroney question. OBTW,..I kept the muzzle about9" to 12" back of the first sensor eye.tjk
