Question about 3000 psi SCUBA vs. 3400+ HP SCUBA
« on: September 02, 2009, 11:58:51 AM »
Rich...I was re-reading your information about your 3000 psi tank.  The K-valve fill station and adapters look very very reasonable as you mentioned.  When you step up to high pressure SCUBA (around 3400 I guess)....what kind of fill station adapter do you need at that point?  I see TONS of $40 K-valve fill stations but I must not be referencing the high pressure terminology correctly because I don't see any of them.

As cool as it would be I think CF is simply out for me unless there is a once in a lifetime deal on the tank and even then the adapters will be prohibitive.  The high pressure SCUBA might be a good compromise between the lower fill pressures of regular SCUBA and the 4500 psi CF tanks.

Let me know what you've seen out there (if anything).  Basically I feel there is considerable markup going on in the retail of these items and think there has to be alternatives.

Thanks,
Casey
