Welll I started off the day by reading all the new posts and CDT called and wanted to meet at the greasy spoon for breakfast and coffee, or did I call him.. hmmmmmm .... Anyway we met around 10 am or so but breakfast was not being served and it was two early for lunch.. they had nutttin fresh and greasy for us...

We sat down and went through I can't remember how many cups of coffee, but I musta had to go peee several times while we were there chewing the fat. When we left Bob ran for the bathroom.... lol
Any near the end of our meeting I had my eye on the US flag flying across the street. Actually it was dead still. hmmm.... Great day for targets and breakin in my new S1K that Bob and me did a lube, debure and seal tune on the week before.. Well when I first got the S1K it was shootin them Superdomes quite nice for a Gamo out of the box. But as time passed it was sling everything I had all over the place. Just barely able to keep the pellets on the paper at 30 yards... lol. So I did a chrony on the baby and low and behold it was shootin with a 100 plus variation.. Low 700 FPS to 825 FPS.. No two shots were even close... lol...
So today I took my new Baby off the shelf and started shootin everything under the sun at the paper targets. After about 300 pellets or so, I decided to check the FPS.. I was getting decent groups with a few of the pellets I used but some just did not make the mark..

..
I did a 15 shot chrony test with Superdomes .177 and Gamo Field Targets .177.. Here are the numbers and I was quite surprised..
Superdomes ---- 849, 851, 850, 852, 853, 849, 851, 851, 851, 852, 853, 849, 854, 852, 850
Gamo FT -- ------ 855, 854, 855, 852, 854, 851, 854, 853, 856, 856, 853, 856, 853, 855, 856
Well I checked my chrony out by using one of my other S1K's that normally shoot in the high 800's and it was right on the money from that last chrony test I did on it.
So if this is a fluke, I am happy with it...

That is the best variation I have had yet out of all the Gamo's that I have tested on the chony.. Now this S1K has the original spring in it and at GRT -III trigger.
Now for the pellets.... hehe I used three different pellets for this test. Now I will say this. That every Gamo I own likes Superdomes, with exception of a couple others which have had barrel mods and one just loves Beaman FTS pellets best... But early last year I had bought some Gamo Tomahawks .177 and shot a bunch but the S1K or CFX's I owned then did not like them. So there I sit with 700 pellets or so that I fingered I would just use for plinking.. Come to find out that this particular S1K loves them.... lol The theory that one kind of pellet does not work the same with all the same model air guns.... lol. So my test goes as follows: I used three different pellets. These pellets are all basically the same shape and weight.
I shot at three bulls eyes with 10 each of the pellets. I sighted in the scope with some cheapy Gamo Pellets I had. After this I put up a target with six bulls on it. From left to right. First 15 shots were with Beaman FTS .177... Second was Gamo Tomahawk .177.... Third was with RWS Superdomes .177.. You will notice that there are really not 10 seperate holes on each bulls. Many of them were 1,2,3,4,5 pellets per hole. Also you will notice that the center group is with Tomahawks and were over all very consistent.
This really kinda *_*_*_*_*_*es me off because now I have to add another pellet brand to existing collection of 10 different types of pellets in the .177 cal...

And that ain't counting the load I have for my .22 cal air rifles... DANG!
But actually I am happy with the outcome of the Lube and Seal Tune. Of course the GRT-III makes target shooting much more accurate and comfortable.
One last thing. I set up some Beechwood targets on swingers. Ed knows all about Beechwood targets... LOL.. But these were 3" targets and a black dot on the center swinger.. I hit the right swinger dead on with the Tomahawk and the left one and center one I hit with the Beaman FTS.
All in all I do have a sore shoulder but the outcome was well worth the effort..

S1K .177, BSA Air Rifle Scope 2-7X32 scope with a CDT GRT - III Trigger and Rich's Muzzle Brake
Lube, debure, and seal tuned by CDT and myself...

He let me watch... hehe
