Marauder in .22
« on: September 04, 2009, 04:14:23 AM »
Im after this PCP for the price, the power, consistency and accuracy.
Now I have been reading that you have to find the sweet spot on the velocity adjustment. Im looking for a .22 shooting heavy pellets and with high velocity (800 will do.. higher than that will hurt the amount of shot per fill)  WHY? because I recently went to my shrimp farm with my GAmo Whisper .177 you can see as much as 200 diferent birds walking on the botom of an empty shrimp pool eating.. but my whisper failed misserably at 30 40 and 50 yards.. accuracy issues??
NO, my wjisper is dead on accurate the problem is WIND! there is so much wind there that shooting a bird at 35 yards the pellet will miss by 2 or more feet!! Im shooting crow magnums which is what my gun likes best buy they are not the best choice for long range or cross wind shots because wind will have a huge effect on it. but wind is so strong that even with faster pellets like JSB exact will have a strong deviation because of wind.
So Im lookinf for a .22 PCP to shoot HEAVY pellets that can get the work done.
besides .177 are so small that even a confirmed hit directly to the heart neck or body will not kill the freaking birds, they are big!! so need bigguer callliber heavier pellets and more velocity with great accuracy!
any comments or opinions??

u dont need a pcp to do that u could get a b28.22cal that will bring your chioce of bird down now if wind is the problem u need closer shots and know where the wind is coming by waving a flag on a stick it woks for me now its doesnt mean to surrender so dont use a white flag hehehehehe.a flag on a small stick pushed into the ground so u could shot with the air not against it .try it before u condem it cause really it works for me at close ranges like 20yds or 15 yds with heavy pellets but a b28.22 will do your job.it cost less and it last longer if you r gonna be in the fields for awhile .buying the marauder plus all the accessories cose alot but if u could afford it go for it cause they r the talk of the town a have a discovery .22 w/pump 299.00 about 320.00 for everthing but loud the marauder is very friendly to shoot and u cant tell if the pellet came out or not ,excellent choice but be ready to spend at least an extra 300 to 360 on top of the 520 u will spend so like 860 for everthing ...GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY PEDRO ITS ME JORGE THE WHISPER GUY .....

Hi Pedro,

I have a Marauder in 22. In the stock configuration it shoots Crossman Premiers starting a 896 fps down to 815 fps. This is 30 shots starting with a 2500 psi fill. There is little change in POI over those 30 shots.
