one piece scope mount
« on: June 26, 2006, 07:55:01 AM »
I have Beeman 5040 1 piece scope mount installed on one of my guns. For the second one I bought Accushot one piece mount. Beside the rings shape and price ($48 & $12), they are identical. Am I right or am I missing something?

Pretty much so. I'm not sure if they are made of a different type of alluminum or not. They might be, but the Accushot are "just as good" at doing the job as the higher priced alternative.

BTW, check this site: http://www.scragglepoint.com

Lowest price you could find on market, but the best service I ever had. Ordered on Friday 23rd, received on Monday 26th.

I'd like to think there was a serious differnce between the two mounts...look the same, mount the same, work the same.... I doubt that there is any difference to justify the price.

Guess which one I've oreded every time after.

Though I didn't hear about it, but I thought maybe Beeman (5040)has some slight, visually not noticeabledroop.

Some of the other mounts look like they've got possibilities, too.

RGPM-25M4 is a 2 piece mount that has 2 bolts per base - that might hold almost as well as the 1-piece. RG18D-25L and RG18D-25M are described as "Extra strength for magnum springers", and each has a receiver pin built into it.

They all look like excellent rings for the price... thanks for the link!

The main difference between the Beeman 1-piece mount and the Accushot 1-piece mount is the $36 you pay for the Beeman name on the package. If you need a slight droop, you can always shim the rear of the scope a little.
I have the Accushot 2-piece mounts on an 18fpe B19 and they work quite well with a BSA 3-12x40 scope. They cost me a whopping $7.50 plus $2.25 for postage....got 'em in two days. The stop-screw that goes down the center of the mount fits right into the milled depression on the top of my gun's tube and locks the mount solid.
Forget overpriced mounts and overpriced shipping....buy Accushot from Scragglepoint!  :)
