a true artist at his trade
« on: September 10, 2009, 08:49:49 AM »
I don't know if I'm placing this thread in the right place but in the process of looking for a custom stock for my B26 I came across a man named Lucas Parsely LP Gunstocks on the Airgun Artisan website, if any of you are unfamiliar with his work you owe it to yourself to check his work out, never before have I seen stocks this beautiful, his LP eagle eye is the stock I am wanting, I like a dark wood with good character- grain, I'm thinking about a burled walnut but I'm still debating, but I thought I would let all my brothers and sisters a GTA know about this man and his work just incase you haven't heard od him go to his website and check him out, also I'm sure that some of you on here are more familiar with woods for gunstocks than I am- guitar wood I know pretty well but guns live in a harsher enviorment than guitars, I want a wood that not only looks good but will stand up well and won't warp and will be fairly tough, this gun will be used but it won't be a field gun either just for target practice and such so any advise would be appreciated thanks in advance

Will do its still in the planing stages right now, try to figure out what wood to use and such but the man is super talented, I'm planing a bunch of mods for my B26, Stock, total rebluing, a turbo tune by Gene, a different scope, and a few other items, it may take a year to get it just how I want it but then it will be tricked out

That's the exact one I'm wanting to get Gene,  after that I'm wanting to send it your way for a turbo tune, then have a friend of mine totally reblue the whole thing and upgrade the scope, the leapers I have now is nice but its a straight 4 power and I'm wanting a 3X9 or 4X16 and then I will have.it how I want it.

Lucas is the nicest guy you could ever talk too, his personal website is listed on Airgun Artisans page, he has so many options and does some of the most beautiful engravings by hand, everything he does from step one is a one man process, he picks the wood, shapes the wood, sands engraves and finishes the wood all by himself, no cnc machines here just a very talanted man doing what he loves and the price is more than reasonable for what you are getting, if any of you are in the market for a new custom stock please look at Lucas's work he makes several different stocks and only uses old word finishes, once this B26 is completed it won't just be a airrifle it will be a heirloom that can be pasted from generation to generation
