Now I Know How Gene Must Feel At Times!!
« on: September 10, 2009, 10:33:20 AM »
I have spent considerable time on manyextended visits to me "Papa Bear,s" home.Sometimes it seems as if "Big Brown" is based there as often as they visit!! Mail trucks just seem ta keep on rolling in!!I have had the true honor of helping Gene in his highly organised shop on several ocasions on customer tunes. (He lets me clean parts,,,, clean the shop & hand him tools & parts!!)Seriously though,,,, I dont know how he does it?? I have watched how he devotes so much time to each gun,, treating it like it was his own. If "We",,, only tune one gun in a day he is ok with that. I personally would crumble under the preasure of knowing a few more guns were waiting?? On several occasions after a tune,,,, I would shoot it across the chrony,, (He lets me do that too!!). I would think all is well but Gene would start taking it back apart???? "Do over"!!Man I though that was good & just want to get on to the next tune to see the "Guts" of another gun!! LOL!! Couple of thousanths here & there & Gene is happy with the tune. Just when I am ready for another one Gene says,,, thats enough for the day "Son",,,, you can play in the shop now!!I usually then proceed to "Butcher Up" me own guns till the wee hours of the morning!!He He!! Anyway,,,, I gots a few stocks to work on. I really LOVE working with wood just as much as Gene loves tuning. I promise to treat em all like they were my own & even better!! (This pic is "Loaded" as a few of these are mine) Man I gotta get to work now!! Timbo. (All this & Roger & I dont even have my web site going!!) I gots a couple more in the mail too me too!!

I wish I could make it Timmy , but there's just too much going on this weekend and next weekend for me to be going anywhere except to Airgunning Atlanta next Saturday(19th) morning for our monthly match . Mama gave me permission to go if I promised to head back home as soon as the match is over . I don't even get to go to lunch with the boys . My daughter and son in law have a out of state wedding ; actually close to you HA! Ha! in Charleston , and I get to dog sit with my grand dog for the weekend . kirby
