Not sure what the ruling on equipment failure would be but I'm done with the talon until I get new trigger components. I've been able play with the springs and keep it working but no more. Gave out while shooting this target. It's kind of like having a variable delay on a camera, might go off by itself in 2 sec, maybe 17.... I tried to aim until it fired on 2 bulls then gave up.  I'm waiting for the neighbors to finish their cookout and if there is any light left I'll shoot a target with the 2400.

Edit - I just shot this with the 2400. Went through 2 co2 carts selecting a pellet and getting the power adjuster to a spot where I could hope for a handful of decent 30y shots. Shot the first five off target at my normal pace to get the co2 moving, all is good for the first 6 on target, shot 7 high! It always seems to move high before getting erratic. Took a few more off target, and decided to change carts. Couple more off target at normal pace then finished the target. Ended up far better than I could have done without going through what I described here, I'd even call it lucky. I think that breaks enough normal contest rules for a disqualification - :-)

Weapon:   Crosman (CS) 2400 6-24x50 Leapers
Pellet:   CP .22
Dist/Pos:   30y / Bench / Front Rest
Score   122

Jeff buddy ,

I am sorry to hear of all your problems this weekend, and hope you get everything fixed soon.

However, these are "FUN" matches, and that is why I'm so sorry for all your troubles ! But to be "Disqualified", I can't imagine what you would have to do ? LOL Perhaps shooting with a paper punch with a 32 power scope mounted on it ?

Your GOOD Jeff, and Humorous too !

Thanks Bill.
That Talon has gotten a serious workout. It probably has over 12,000 pellets through it. I think it's earned new trigger bits (they are not known for trouble free operation) and hammer. It's a true safety concern now.

But yeah - between completely falling apart on the springer match and this, it sure was an interesting weekend.

I have a new toy on the way that will take over the primary HPA PCP role and a longer barrel to get a little more umph out of the Talon while on CO2. I just need to stop spending the $$ I've set aside for the new toy.
