Thank you, of course, for your service to all of us!  Being a flight instructor, I couldn't help but laugh at your fears..  Preparing for what you're preparing for would have to be the most frightening thing I could imagine anyone going through, both physically and mentally.  There's certainly not much on that C-117 to be afraid of (except maybe the barf barrel - and the joshing of fellowship).  Oh and dave had it right when he said you're ok as long as you're not riding in one of those #$%$#3 helicopters!  I'm sure everyone that knows you and loves you are glad you're back home.  Thanks for the post and for the pictures - keep the honor and the memories alive.

Wow, it seems like yesterday Kimmie Sue joined the Army and now she is coming home with an honorable discharge!  That certainly is good news!!  Especially for grandpa to be Timmy!!  :D

I cannot believe Kimmie Sue that you were in New Jersey and Tim didn't think to tell you to give me a call.  We could have probably hooked up and I could have taken you to New York City or out in Jersey.  I don't live in Jersey but work there.  Jersey is not a very big state so I probably would have been able to get to you within 2-3hrs.  Dinner or a night out in the big city would have been the least I could do after all that Tim has done for me.

What I do before flying is have a couple of drinks and I 'm fine :)  Those C-117's are probably the safest planes to fly in.  I live near Stewart Airforce base (in NY) and see them take off and land all the time.  We also have C-5 Galaxy planes!  My son and I like watching them come and go.  They are really something.  Thanks for showing us how big they are inside! hehehe.  :)

Harry

Harry...
That was very unthoughtful of dad! We must find some way to punish him! LOL Except of course we were on lockdown..It was an army wide training event along with the air force and we werent allowed to go ANYWHERE! I mean we had to ask permission to go to the shopette..that was before we were in the field. I would of loved a night out on the town however!! Its nice of you to think of doing that! Im glad to see that my dad has some good friends one here. And yes I have been told they are very safe, but that does not seem to ease the terror it gave me. I kept calling it "the death mobile"! Im just plain out scared of flying, seems crazy to be up that high going that fast! But I mad eit out alive! And yes I am coming home, I have mixed feelings about that. But mostly I am happy to be able to be with my family again! It does seem like just yesterday but surprisingly it has been a year! Thanks again for your comments..Oh and so far the baby is due April 22 2010..Cant wait!!!

Hey Tim..Kim here! It makes me happy to see that you are so proud of me! I was worried that people would be disappointed in me for getting out but at this point its the right decision. I was thinking that its hard enough to explain why daddy has to go away for so long..how do you explain why mommy and daddy have to go away??? I just couldnt do that to my baby..And with Ryan...I mean SGT Scott..going away next month I think its best for me to come on home and be with my wonderful family! And hey I can always come back in and kick some butt later if I fell the need! Its been a interesting year..I've learned alot and grown alot too! I wouldnt trade this experience for anything! Ok dad I love you and I hope your having fun at your shoot out! I wanted to come see everyone but unfortunalty I couldnt make it this weekend.. Maybe next time!! Love ya dad...see ya next weekend..
