anyone else had this problem?

Hey guys, I just returned from the field this afternoon and I gootta say that I'm really happy with the trigger and power mod I did on the gun. The only problem I'm having is with the optics. I had a new Leapers 3-9  by 40 scope which had performed well up until now that is. I can't get the scope to hold true, and it is impossible to zero now. I thought that it might have been the rifle so I removed the scope and fired the gun with open sights. The rifle was shooting through the same hole at 25 yards 2 out of three shots, so no problem there. So I remounted the scope and tried to sight the gun in...no way, not even at 10 yards! I don't get it. I really liked the scope, except the awkward turret adjustment knob. I did slip and fall with the rifle in hand a couple of weeks ago but the scope never made contact with the ground, only the but end of the stock and front of the compression tube with no damage. Anyone have any ideas? I've ditched the scope for now and am in the market for another scope. Maybe I got a dud or something. I've noticed that a lot of people swear by Leapers. I've always been a Bushnell man myself. Any info appreciated.

I've had great success with Leapers scopes,,,, matter of fact 99 % of my rifles are wearing Leapers and I've never had one go bad on me.  However, it is still possible to get a lemon.... perhaps you did in fact get a bad one.   Have you tried contacting Leapers ???  Perhaps they will replace it for you....

BTW.... just curious.... what trigger and power mods did you do ?????

I will look into that, thanks, I thought I must have gotten a dud . I noticed when I tried to tighten down my elevation turret after adjusting that the turret did not seat flat on it's mount, it looked a bit crooked. Maybe the jar set something loose in that area. For the trigger and power mods I drilled a new hole in the lower link 1/4" forward towards the muzzle. What this did was gave the trigger mechanism an added leverage advantage, thus lightening the trigger pull. I had to do some custom grinding on the lower link to get it to work properly with the sear. As well I replaced the factory trigger spring with a lighter spring, (actually it was from a bick pen). And finally I did some reshaping and polishing of the sear itself to help shorten the overall length of pull, but for safety sake I was careful to remove only a little bit of material. I also installed 1 set screw to adjust the trigger's first stage. Because of the problem of possibly getting sear drag on the hammer I opted to stay away from the other two set screws. The pull is light now with a clean release.

If it's a spring powered rifle your scope shook loose inside. Attach a collimator and watch the reticle dance as you tap on the scope. Been there done that! :(

It's not a springer, it's a benjamin discovery pcp gun, no recoil.
