Mac vs. PC
« on: March 04, 2007, 06:36:09 AM »
If you've been a computer person a.k.a. "puter nerd" like myself for anything longer than a week you know all about the rivalry between Macintosh and Windows based computers.....actually, if you watch TV then you undoubtedly have seen the "Hi I'm a Mac.  Hi, I'm a PC" commercials.  Here's a few of those commercials that I doubt will make it on prime time television:

I laughed my ***** off, this is entirely too funny.

For years there was no comparison between a Mac and PC.. Macs were the work horse of the century for publishing. Thats all I would give credit for to a Mac...:) To find a variety of software for them was almost imposible, unless it was graphics and publishing software.. :) besides that the normal user could not afford it anyway..

Now the PC was a fantastic invention...:) It did not serve the industry at first because it was so weak in power etc. But an individual who wanted to learn a simple program called Dos, could have a ball with it. Then Mr Gates showed up with Window and all pooy broke loose...:)

Since that time Mac has made there machines more compatible for everyday users but still the problem lingers about software. When I retired over 2 years ago, Mac still had a small selection of software avaiable for there machines. Personally I do not think that Mac will never surpass the PC in use by individuals. If they do the PC will have evolved into something even better by then.. hehe

Just think, there will be people who would argue with me......hehe

Just my two cents..

Have to say this...from a start up view point, the new iMAC (the one I'm typing on is my wife's) is absolutly the easiest to get up and running. Do I miss having to restart my computer every time some little thing is changed?

Before Katrina, for on-line, was running a live-CB Linex uint...super simple and as close to bug/virus proof as is humanly possible....might just go back to that kind of system for surfing.

Gene,

you weren't supposed to compare the Mac and PC here, you were just supposed to watch the movies and laugh:)

Hehe, I like when the PC freezes and the Mac says,"Expandability, I'll show you expandability" while he's putting on the rubber glove.  Then the PC wakes up and asks,"Hey, what's with the glove?"

Man that stuff cracks me up.  Sent it to a friend of mine who is always on about Linux this and Linux that, he was offended, but he is JUST like the BSD box in the spoofs.  Funny stuff!
