Just when things looked like they were shaping up for air gunners in San Diego Murphy pops up his ugly head. Too bad. I'm going 10m match myself.  Hope to give my FWB 602 a whirl this Wednesday.

Can't believe they can't get together with the Range Commander...?? This is dragging out to long...

Thursday I'm going to get an application for another range membership with Southbay Gun Club..they have a range out in Delzura...300 yard,100 yard,75 yard,50 yard & 25 yard plus separate pistol and trap ranges...they are the cheapest of all available ranges in San Diego County...day use is $20...membership $75/year...members shoot free...

http://www.sbrgc.org/

This way I can shoot all my guns...including air rifles...

If SDPD don't let us shoot,I'm going there to raise a fuss as a "paid member" there and see what they say...and mention they sold me a membership under false pretenses...LOL...

How far to Dulzura time-wise?  Be cool to be able to shoot at those distances or powderburners.

It is 22 miles from downtown El Cajon out via Hwy 94...about 35 minutes...address is 1020 Marron Valley Road
Dulzura CA 91917....you can use Google Maps and get directions/time from your address to the  range...

So I checked out the Wednesday 10m shooting - pretty informal and laid back.  Got to shoot some nice pistols - an FWB P44 and one by Swissarms.  Also got to shoot the FWB 300S rifle which was fantastic.  I think that's going to be my rifle of choice.  Another guy was shooting really well with a mid-80's Diana 45 so all kinds of guns were represented.

I assume no word from the range master?

i want to go so bad, so many rifles  and no place to shoot ,  i think i am going to move and look for a  house with a really big back yard with no  neighbors , so i can shoot every day , would be nice

I've thought of the same thing but even the rural areas around here are expensive...and then you are far from the conveniences.  Might be time to move out of state altogether :-)

Probably lots of them - considering my buddy in South Carolina takes videos of himself shooting an AK-47 out in a field, I think airguns are probably OK there too. :-)

Or I think pretty much any private property - even San Diego would be fine if you had the necessary plot.  But who has 1-2 acres+?

They seemed pretty gun friendly in Wyoming.  I mean they just don't want to have a wolf hunting season (wolve population in Yellowstone is going up fast)  like their Idaho and Montana neighbors but they want the wolf reclassified as a predator so they can be shot on sight.

We may have good news...Howard called me last evening and said he has spoke with Randy(the range commander). It seems Randy is willing to work something out with us....so Howard presented a schedule for our actvities to Randy for his review...we should hear something maybe next week....

I think it all comes down to a schedule which will not conflict with police training....and just so facts are known, the SDPD Range property was donated many years ago with the stipulation that it would be available for public use....another fact is,the San Diego Police Revolver Club has much influence over the range use.(That is where my membership is)..NOT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT....

BTW...
You guys should know that California is one of the most progressive states re being "Airgun" friendly....that is a fact....
