barrel question
« on: March 07, 2007, 10:49:21 AM »
I have been fiddling with a couple of Crosman air pistols and want to put longer barrels on them.  I got a 1322 barrel (a tad over 10" long) that's just the right size for what I wanted on one of my pistols.  The only thing is that the muzzle end has been turned down and quite frankly the crown isn't the greatest, even looking at it without a magnifying glass.  At any rate I'm probably going to put some sort of front sight or muzzle brake on the end of this anyway, so cosmetics isn't really a concern.  My question is, though, would it be better to cut this smaller portion off and re-crown, or just re-crown the small section and be done with it?  Here are two pictures of the barrel end in case I didn't describe it well enough.

I'd try re-crowning first.
If that doesn't yield satisfactory results you can always go to option #2.

Thanks for your reply Theox.  I re-crowned it  and it turned out pretty well.  Groups well enough that I don't have any reason to cut it off now.  :)  :)
