Away from The Gate for a while
« on: March 07, 2007, 03:28:41 PM »
Hey, guys. Looks like I'll be away from The Gate for a while as my other son, Graeme, was admitted to the hospital today, also with a case of pneumonia. It doesn't seem to be as bad going in as Eric' was , but things can change rapidly( Hopefully we caught it before it escalates like Eric's did!). Just on antibiotics and a little bit of O2 right now.

Eric is doing better, off the ventilator and breathing on his own during the day with just a little Cpap assist at night. Needs a smaller dia. trach tube so he can breath when it's capped off,as well as talk, then he can start eating real food and hopefully go home.

So we'll be camping out at the Hotel Hospital for the next few days. See ya later!

Ric G

:)  :D  :)  :D Good News! My youngest boy came home from the hospital last night and will continue with antibiotics and breathing treatments at home. My oldest is scheduled to come home sometime Monday. He will have a lot of adjusting to do as his lifestyle will be quite different than before he went in, but there is a chance he will come back as near as possible. He still needs a lot of rehab and treatments, that we can do at home, but I think being home will be the best medicine of all.

Thanks to all of you here on The Gate for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. I'm convinced they helped a lot!
