I have a Question????
« on: October 02, 2009, 08:50:05 AM »
Just exactly how INSANE would you have to be to give your Credit Card numbers to any organization or individuals inorder for them to bill your Credit Card on a monthly basis?

I have recieved several pitches this week for just that.   Churches and Politicians have both offered to help me by making "Giving easy".   Just give us your Credit Card numbers and the expiration dates.    Can you imagine giving a Politician carte blanche with your Credit card?    I'd rather give it to person on the street.

How many of you would hand over your Credit Card numbers as easy as some folks want you to???  For easy giving.

I have one outfit billing me on a monthly basis, private business I've known for years - but a politician or charity can wait/hope for a check, - NO WAY.

In this day and age, that can be asking for it.  Even if the organization is legit, should their billing information become compromised, you could find yourself in big trouble.

I maintain 2 credit cards. One low limit that I use for on line transaction and my regular card that I share with my wife. I mostly use Paypal when available.

Not the only form of insanity !!!!

I knew a married couple that had their full names, address, phone number and ......BOTH OF THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY  numbers printed on their personal checks.

Why anyone would think their social security number needs to be on a check I'll never understand !!!!!

I agree with all above,

But many times persons would like you to give them you credit card number over the telephone !

Even if you were of mind to give it, remember anyone can be listening over a scanner ! Anyone can receive your credit card numbers, name, address and phone number !!!!

NEVER give you information to anyone over an unsecured line ! And ALL regular lines are unsecured !!!

I have asked these idiots if their line was secure, and they always say YES !!!! THEY ARE NOT SECURE !
