Yesterday I made a post about some binoculars and a spotting scope that Cabelas had on sale. After I made the post I found out that the information they had on their website was incorrect, they showed a 15X45X50 spotting scope when actually it was a 20X50 fixed power scope and a pair of Bushnell 10-42 binoculars for $69.88 which to me seemed like a pretty good deal.
After doing a little research I found that they had four different item numbers for the same binoculars and scope combo. What got me was that they had three different prices for the same thing, $79.99, $69.88 and 59.99. All of the prices were sale prices, the original coast was $99.99. and all of the item numbers were valid at the same time. Depending on the item number you found you could pay $80.00 down to $60.00 for the same thing and if you were unlucky and found the number with the higher price they would not tell you that the item could be bought for $20.00 less if you used a different number.
Why do they have so many different numbers and prices for the same item ? If you happen to use the number with the higher price why don't they tell you that you can buy it for less money if you use a different item number ? This just sort of bothers me.
Anyway, I bought the scope - binocular combo for $59.99, the price of the binoculars alone was around $90.00. The item number that you can buy them for $59.99 is 7CC-712412 if anyone is interested.
