made me decide
« on: March 12, 2007, 12:36:33 PM »
The pellet drop though complete jam-up happened with a 2078...decided, am either going to cut the new QB78's tube for that gas-release-key or replace the gas tube with a 2078 tube.  All I had to do was turn the key...if it had happened with the 78, would have had to futz around with a charged valve/tube with no easy way to release the gas.

The only time you really need to dump the charge is if you need to work on the valve or the tube cap. You can do an almost complete tear down and leave it charged, just don't remove the screw that holds the valve in place...........

Thinking about what happened...a key isn't going to help.  Pellet was wedged so that the hammer couldn't strike the valve. Key wouldn't have helped.

Am thinking about it...as it stands now, may just dump the QB's and build anouther 2260/2240 (kind of a combination).

Pretty sweet collection.  My collection is slowly shrinking, down to 3 guns: QB78 .22, IZH-46M, Cr2260.  My wife owns the little blue 2240 with the 2260 trigger group.  Trying to sell off my last two CO2 guns to buy one nice PCP.

Good luck.  Are lots of people happy with their PCP's, but I wasn't one of them....can be very nice rifles, but I just don't need to shoot anything that hard with an airgun (once it gets far away or to be a big critter, will shoot them with a rimfire or a centerfire rifle)...just found I had no game I couldn't kill out to 50yards with standard guns and no complaints about the accuracy of those guns.  So I didn't replace the PCP's after Katrina.

Have co2's (th picuture posted above).

Some SingleStrokePneumatics:

and Some MultiStrokePneumatics:

No springers (a whole differnt stroy...but basically I've had the world's worse luck with springers) or PCP's.

Wow, nice collection there.....sure ya don't need a couple more?  I have two CO2's that I am ready to have leave home.  Basically it's either too hot on my back porch for CO2 or too cold on my back porch for CO2....somewhere in between is Spring, and it's raining.  I have owned some beautiful guns, CO2, pumpers, and springers...I hate to pump, not hugely happy with springers, and CO2...welp, I explained that.  Now this IZH I just bought, I like that alot, now I just need something for when I visit friends with open space...a PCP.  I might get a match grade rifle for shooting in my yard...to go with the IZH pistola:)
