Ruger Blackhawk powerplant
« on: October 23, 2009, 02:57:03 AM »
Is the piston, spring, etc the same as the B25? The reason I ask is at another site a person stated the Ruger Blackhawks powerplant was a scaled down version of the RWS 350, and not a RW34 .

I believe it is the same.....

I have a Blackhawk and also have a 350 and there's no way my Blackhawk is a scaled down 350 power plant....

If you look at the parts diagram of the 350 and the Air/Black Hawk/B-25 you will notice that both have an articulated cocking arm and a piston liner unlike the 34. So it is more a scaled down version of the 350 than a copy of the 34. However 34 parts as well as JM's GRT kit will fit in the Hawk/B-25.

Thanks for the information. From all I read I assumed it was a copy of the 34, so when I read the post about it being a scaled down 350 I figured I better ask questions and find out they why.
Thanks,
Buck

Dunno about the blackhawk, but my redhawk uses 2701 grains of Vihtavuori N110 and a 180 grain Hornady XTP.
