Daisy 753/853 combo
« on: October 24, 2009, 10:50:13 AM »
Hi:
Failed to stress  in my original post below that the 853 Rear/753 Front combination requires that the 853 be raised quite high to match the higher sight line of the 753.  If you 853 doesn't have close tolerances it may allow movement (play) at this height.  I've been using this combination for quite a while and have not had any problems, but I'm very careful with my equipment.  Not recommended for a club gun or one that will be subjected to rough handling.  If there is a problem with your example, you can use a riser block on the 853 to get it back near its original range of adjustment, get the matching 753 rear, or just live with the 853 front and rear.

For what it costs and its intended use, the 853 gets it done. Stretch it beyond it's intended limits and you may run into problems.  There are a lot  better shooters than me using the 853 with good success.

Sorry if this caused any confusion or inconvenience to anyone.

I have way too much time on my hands.

Cheers,
Fatman
