1000 yard with 50 BMG
« on: October 24, 2009, 12:58:02 PM »
I am shooting a 1000 yard shoot this weekend with a Armalite AR-50 BMG. just to the right of me on the line is Richard Heller (of Heller vs. DC). 1000 yards is a lot of fun, a bunch great of guys here with FCSA and super cool to me to meet Richard heller.

Martin:

Sounds like fun!  Where are you shooting?  I would love to watch some time.  I would like to try my hand at ranges beyond 100 yards, but don't have a good place to shoot  as I am not in the military and don't belong to any shooting clubs (yet).  What do the 1000 yard targets look like?  Do you load your own 50 bmg?

Armalite AR-50 with CHEAP $3 a shoot French surplus ammo. We will be handloading for the next comp, in the spring.

I did OK. I beat the guy who owns the rifle I was sharing.

The targets are 5 inch x with 10 inch 10 ring each ring out from that is 5 inches bigger. the 5 and 6 rings are 10 inches wide. The whole target board is 6 foot by 6 foot.

I had one two consecutive shots within 1 inch of each other. I also had several total misses of the paper.

A LOT OF FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
