I've shot the 97 and 87. The 99 is more powerful than the 97...but I doubt it is more powerful than the 87. And unless the 87 I shot was just a really good one, it is pretty awesome out of the box. But it is heavy, and 6 pounds more to cock... And $60 more right now.

Mine cocks smoothly and shoots well. I really can't complain about it.  That said, it will be going up for sale soon due to lack of space.

I have a QB36-2. Same gun.  The Tech Force version has a nicer checkered stock.
Mine is very smooth cocking, shooting, and accurate. And I would say the hardest hitter in my collection right after my Winchester(Daisy) 1000.
Decent trigger too. Any yes, very heavy... definitely a bench rest rifle.

I have 2 TF99s, 177 they are very good guns as far as I can tell.  I have 10 or so air rifles these two seem to be the most accurate of my collection, I think because of the weight and the fixed barrel. I have a range set up in the back of my house at 100 yards 75, 50, 25, I can hit a cambells soup can more consistently with the 99 than any of my breakbarrels. I hold about 8 inches high, hit the can 8 out of 10 times at 100 yards.  Good power all my guns are rated at 1000 fps with lead.  dont have a chrony but they all seem to have about the same power.

That is a 3 year old review.  Looks more like my QB36-2.  The current TF versions have nicer,dark, checkered stocks. A couple of months ago I purchased the TF97 (medium power) in .22. This is probably my smoothest shooter. Nice checkered stock and a good trigger.  ArcherAirguns sells the QB36 versions of these TechForce guns. I like the underlevers... a fixed barrel just makes more sense accuracy wise.

My TF99 .22 launches Crosman hollowpoints in the mid 700s. I'm thinking about making/adapting a synthetic seal, replacing the spring, and making a new spring guide. That spring has way too much preload, in my opinion. Mine's a good shooter. I've thought about boring it smooth so I can use Gamo shotshells in it for close in critter whackin'.

Gene, Why wouldn't you tune a TF99? Not that I was ever planning on asking you to. Just curious.

Reading a customer review over on airgundepot, he wasn't happy with the stock, bluing and power.  He stated his was shooting 615FPS with medium weight RWS pointed pellet.
I don't know anything about this rifle but I'm learning there is a lot of hipe and BS with Airguns and not only speaking of Tech Force.

For what its worth...I have a TF97 that I keep saying I'm going to sell.  I think the trigger is lousy and there really isn't anything you can do to improve it because of its design.  But, I never get to selling it because every time I shoot it I remember how nice it is.  It cocks smooth as butter with little effort.  It is perfectly weighted.  It shoot incredibly accurate less than 25 yards.  I can stack the .22 pellets with this rifle.  Better than my other .22s at short range.  At 20 yards or less shooting at my Gamo fall down squirrel it is like automatic.  Plink, drop.  Plink, drop.  All day long.   In particular it loves the TF Domed pellets.  WRT tunes.  The rifle really doesn't need one in my opinion.  I don't think one can help it.  Not that it is perfect but just that I don't see that there is anything that would improve it.  Sure you could possibly install a heavier spring but why since it is designed as a medium powered .22.  I also think a stronger spring would stress the direct sear trigger to the point of unsafe.  So for $57 on special at Compasseco with a bug buster that cost more than the rifle, this is a great plinker package.  I'll venture a bet the TF99 is the same story with a bit more power.

Nothing I can disagree with there, andy, but I know I would be getting the TF87 (not 97 or 99) if I wanted an underlever.

John the TF 90 series are just very rough inside. I tend to get pretty cut up tuning them. So I have opted not to take any tunes in with that series.
