Ok, I've never posted here in the shop, but I have to confess that I occasionally sneak in and take a peek at people's projects, or try to learn a bit about some of the amazing things you guys can do. And I also like to drool over some of the equipment setups; hehe boys will be boys!.

But I just saw that stock you're making for the Marauder Timmy, and I just had to say something: WOW! That is a gorgeous piece of wood! And that stock's going to have some very fine curves too.

Hmm.. the only thing that hasn't been messed around with on my B28 now is the stock, and I've been wanting to change that longer than I've wanted it tuned or chopped. I guess I need to start saving up a Genuine Timbo Stock! Good lord, the financial strain airguns are starting to put on me already, when I'm only 21 and only have 1 gun! You guys are going to make go bankrupt lol

*Sigh* time to start squirrelin' away money again I wish you all the success in your new endeavor!

Yea, though I walk through the garden in the shadows of pests,
I will fear no squirrel: For thou art with me;
thy scope and thy trigger, they comfort me.

Schmidty25 - 10/28/2009 10:08 AM Nice piece of wood, and nice inlays. I am assuming your going to do more sanding to round off the stock. Do you just sand that off? Bet that will take some time.
Josh,,, Yup Im gonna "Round" her off some!! ROFLMBO!! This one will have an adjustable cheek piece with ambi monte carlo shape. Kinda funny,,, I brought it in last night to show the wife,,, she says: "Dad",, it looks real nice & the wood joints are perfect but it is a "Lil Clubby",,, you gonna round it off some?? I nearly died laughing!!Yes honey,, I have not even begun shaping yet!! LOL!! Josh,, I use many differant tools for the shaping part,, stationary belt sanders,, hand held belt sander,, 4" hand held disc sander,, orbital sanders,, a dremmel with differant attachments, & several more tools. I resort only to hand sanding with several differant sanding blocks & assorted dowel rods wrapped in sand paper for the final shaping. Some day soon I hope to get myself a dupli carver of some sort to make my job MUCH easyer. I been looking at them online but unfortunatly they cost tween $1200 - $5000.I will certainly get one soon,,,,, "Baby Steps"!!Timbo.

Hey Tim, ya never know maybe that could be a new design! LOL    but yea that would be kinda hard to get symmetrical with a belt sander.  I built a Skim board when I was in high school wood shop used a belt sander to taper off the edges about 8-12 inches and  It's tough to get perfectly even,  anyway can't wait to see it done!

It is amazing how much you learn on your first stock.
I started out much the same as you.
I still enjoy carving the wood by hand, as one off originals.
Not like the Big, Pro, Stock Duplicators, LOL.
Keep it up, Timmy.
Cheers, David.
