Well,, after MANY talks with Me Buddys "Mr Bob" (CDT),, Gene,, J Woodcock & Me Buddy "Ping",,, I think I have come up with a way better adjustable riser block than electrical connectors!! I have all the faith in the world in these now with ALOT of time in R&D.These cost me HALF of what the electrical connectors cost & the NIGHTMARE alighnment issues are a thing of the past now!! Super simple,, yet bullet proof!! Again,,,, I could do better with some better tools but,,,,, I tend to go with "Run What Ya Brung"!! LOL!! Maybe I could find a Friend that has a metal lathe that could bore the main hole for me in the 1 1/4" long by 3/4" od aluminum??These will work just fine though!! Timbo.

Let,s see if I got my "sifering" right. Aluminum 3/4" round stock 1 1/4" long,,, $.21,,, one stainless steel screw,,$.26. That is a grand total of $.47 each. Regardless of the costs,,, IMO the advantage of boring one ROUND HOLE in the stock either leaving the pollished end of the stud block ever so slightly proud for "Bling" or sinking it deeper with a contrasting wood plug is WAY better than the electrical connectors I used on my first mod. Yes you do have to spend a little time making them from scratch,,,, IMOit is well worth t though. I do want to make it a point though to THANK brother Gerald for his original idea that inspired me & thank him for the MANY sleepless nights as a result of trying to refine his idea!!LOL!! Its Folks like you Gerald that inspire us all!!!!!! Thank you Buddy for the insperation,,,,, Timbo.

nuthin' like that back-yard engineering....isn't that how the barrel chopping got started?....ain't it amazing what you can "engineer" on the tailgate of a pickup truck ?.......guess you don't have time for my "stuff" now....(rws-54).?...that's ok.  just put it back together so i can shoot it next weekend.  i haven't shot it in over 2 months.  i know ya busy and i ain't in no hurry...i have a bunch of "new" toys to play with....one of them has been "woodcocked"......power-house!!!!

At my local Industrial hardware store they sell a Solid shaft Collar.These are a round ring with a set screw in the side. Solid meaning that it does not have a cut in it to tighten on the shaft. They cost app $.50 in the 3/8 size. But they are short app3/8 high. you could all ways use a couple in the hole to stabilize the shaft.

They're also known as "stop collars".

 They come in sets of standard sized ID  to fit wood working drill bits such as Foster bits. Same allen key set screw in the side. Sold in just about any good wood worker's supply house. The better made stop collar set  have two set screws in each collar - one opposite the other.

Sometimes you can buy just one size and not have to get the whole set.
