muzzle brake
« on: October 31, 2009, 01:54:54 AM »
Good morning ,I am new to airgunning and was very happy to find GTA. I have a gamo shadow 1000 that I have removed the iron sights.I am looking for a muzzle brake to protect the muzzle. Is the beeman universal muzzle brake suitable for my gamo or is there a custom muzzle brake I could buy.thanks

I believe the Beeman will fit, but if you want something a little more unique, check out this site: http://airgunartisans.com/  Just scroll down the page and follow the links.  There's some really nice work being done by some of these people.  And welcome to the GTA!

I've bought/used three Beeman universal muzzle brakes, - on a .17 cal. no problems. Would recommend them without a question. On a .22 cal, - take it to a machine shop and have the bore enlarged by .050 dia. - then it will work like a charm too. - BTW, - welcome aboard.

Thanks for the info guys. The custom brakes are the way I want to go,but I have no calipers to measure the outside diameter of the barrel . the gun is the shadow 1000. I wonder if someone could tell me the size.
