I nrmally do not accept the Gamo Extremes, Gamo 1250 Hurricanes and now the Gamo Socom Extremes in for tuning. Since they have to be cocked at least 20 times or more per tune that just does not go well with my shoulders. Fortunately Ernie was around today when I opened the box and discovered the Extreme...

His eyes lit up and he was ready and willing to do the pre and post cocking in order to determine the health of the new Gamo...:)Many of you know already that i do not except them for tuning but one slipped by me and I actually thought I was getting a Socom Carbine in for a tune which is basically a standard Gamo S1K action with a fancy synth stock.
Well I can tell you other than the synthetic stock on the Socom there is no difference at all in the power plant over the above mentiion models.
Not only is there the issue with cocking those big boys but in order to do a proper tune you need a new spring and seal. Those are not available anywhere for direct replacement. But JM does have a seal that will work but it requires about two hours of machine work to make an adaptor for it. Also JM makes a spring that is a direct replacement but I do have to make some mods. I do not push my springs either so do not think that is what I do...

But anyway here are some pictures of the Gamo Socom in pieces.
Please do not ask me to tune your Gamo Big Boys..
Yes the GRT-III trigger will work. No changes in the Theoben Trigger Design.
Yes Ernie now wants one..
