Disco Pistol
« on: November 02, 2009, 01:03:17 AM »
I decided to put together a disco pistol. This is a work in progress/mockup. I haven't chronied it yet and have only shot it on CO2. I am still unsure what size barrel I am going to use and it is going to be fully shrouded. I have added custom grips, but I am not mounting them until everything else is complete. I also have a 18 1/2" shortened disco air tube that I am going to make into a carbine, but that is another project. I am waiting on a bunch of parts to come in and I am limited right now on $$ lol.

I like the idea. I want a pcp version of the 2240/2250.

Thanks guys, I am not going to put a barrel band on this one, the barrel is going to free float and get fully shrouded. The barrel is secured to the breech with 2 set screws. I will use 2 barrel bands on my carbine version without a riser breech. But I am still waiting on some small parts to complete both projects.

Who cut and re-threaded your disco tube.
someone just posted over on the yellow classified, for cut down disco tubes. kinda pricy tho.
have a 2260 tube that I'm thinking of converting into a pcp, TKO has done several of them, so it should work with that tube.

Darren  at   pacific pellet guns cut the tube for me. He is great to deal with and builds some really cool pistols and carbines on the discovery platform. he is also working on or has completed a marauder 10 shot pistol.
You can check out his website or email him. http://www.pacificpelletguns.com   pacificpelletguns@gmail.com

Well, some of my parts have come in for the disco carbine I am building. I have the bottom half complete and holding air, we will see if it is still holding tomorrow. this tube is cut down to 18.5"
I am waiting on a breech and just a couple other items to complete this project.

Chris,

Have you detuned them?  If not doesn't the short tube really cut down on usable shots?  Curious what type of power you are getting on how many shots.

Andy, I am still putting the pistol and Carbine together and trying to figure out what length and caliber barrels I am going to mount on them. I do have 1 lightened discovery hammer and power adjusters on both, I also have a stock hammer and a heavy aftermarket hammer spring. so I plan on doing a lot of testing on them soon, just trying to scrape some money together to complete the projects. plus I am not that worried about the shot count anyway because I have 2 full size disco's.  I had Darren at pacific pellet guns do all the work on cutting down the tubes. the rest of the parts I either had laying around,  bought off of the classifieds or purchased them directly from crosman. so it wasn't too pricey, plus I picked up parts that I needed a little at a time and parted ways with some of my shooters that weren't getting that much attention to help fund the project.

Thanks  Andy,  I will keep you all updated on my progress with these 2 projects. Timmy, I have 2 full size disco's and you have one of them... Take your time and borrow it as long as it takes to get your patterns and jigs made up. when that one gets back, I am planning to re barrel it in .25 cal.  but that will be when I get some more funds together (maybe after christmas).  that is the next project I have in the planning stage...lol
