New Disco Being Released
« on: November 04, 2009, 12:35:49 PM »
Anybody have any inside "dope" on the new Crosman Discovery being announced on Friday by P.A.  ????   It's supposed to be an "upgraded" Disco,,,, read some rumors that it will have some of the Marauder features incorporated into it...   Go to P.A. and click on the "Blog" link.... they show a hazey, out of focus pic of it and state it's going to be sold by P.A. and the official announcement will be on Friday.......

It will be interesting for sure Jeff. I have just bought new used Disco and I am in the process of doing some mods on it with CDT. I have a Marauder .177 and am very happy with the build quality and all the fine tuning that can be done to it. Crosman has done there homework for sure on this.

I really do not like the idea of Pyramyd getting the exclusive on this. I think all the dealers should have access to this new gun. That way there can be open competition in pricing. If only one dealer has the new gun then they can ask whatever they decide on it. Time will tell and if it is fishy we will find the rat sooner or later..:)

Yeah Gene,,,, I agree,,,, I love my Disco and I love my Marauder, Crosman certainly hit a home run with both....

As for the "new" gun,,,, guess we'll have to wait until Firday   :(

I am also anxiously waiting for the unveiling on Friday. I agree with Gene it is not fair for Pryamyd to be the only dealer to exclusively carry this model. Basically they will set the price and we will have to pay it. I think it is also unfair to other dealers who carry Crosman products.

I don't think they can raise the price to much or they will have to compete with the marauder.

The new gun is out:

http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Benjamin_Katana/2012   for $399.  Basically a Disco action with Marauder trigger group and stock.  Consensus over on another forum seems to be 'nice try' but people were really hoping for a shroud ahead of a new stock.  The trigger guard is a bit funky too. :-)

yeah, the Kitanna looks good (except for the funky trigger guard).. Ya know, I could deal with the cheaper trigger setup and have a shroud instead.  The noise is a big issue for me.
