« on: November 13, 2009, 06:41:38 AM »
I have heard/ read  this term on the various forums.

Define ;  TROLL ,

Define ;   TROLLING

How would you know if someone  or yourself is a TROLL.

Define as applied to these forums.  Not defined as fishing techniques.

Hey Mike,

A Troll is someone that comes on to a forum to argue, for no reason at all ! They may call members names or tell you that your air gun sucks ! even if they don't know what make or model you own.

Just unfriendly nasty, argumentative people = TROLLS. A Troll may also make attempts to cause you to argue with another member, by twisting your posts, or standing on the outside of the discussion making comments trying to get others to argue.

NEVER FEED THE TROLLS, JUST IGNORE THEM !!!

"Do not feed the trolls" and its abbreviation DNFTT redirect here. For the Wikimedia essay, see "What is a troll?".

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[2]

TROLLS are happy people when they can make people unhappy, in short TROLLS  are unhappy when people are happy.

Thanks for the input.   I now know more about TROLLs than I want to.   Basically trouble-makers that can hide behind the curtain of the Inter-net.   That if they tried the same tricks  in  real life somebody would eventually kick thier butt.

Bogey,

Thanks for the post.  I was wondering what trolling was too.  Someone said to be careful in my "provocative" post a while ago.  I would like to think I'm not a troll but my intent on a couple posts was to get the board going.  You know we can only see so many stocks, groupings and fpe discussions ;-)

So to anyone I offended about the "poser" post, I apologize.  Just trying to confirm what I believe and that is there is no elitist airgunners on the GTA boards.
