Discovery Stock
« on: November 14, 2009, 04:37:35 AM »
I have read a lot of complaints about the discovery stock and it being smallish. I must agree however I went to walmart and bought a limb saver slip on recoil pad and it made a big difference. The lop is just right and it feels better when shouldered. You guys might want to give it a try.

Without it is around 13 3/4" with it is close to 14 3/4 or a little more. It fits me perfect with it on and it does not slip on my shoulder when I shoot it. I have one on a CZ 452 American and a Savage 17 Mac 2. I really like what they do for a short rifle.

What size did you use? Small or medium? Does it come in brown?  Thanks!  Terry

I thing I ended up with the small. I bought both and the one that fit best I kept. It only comes in black. I have seen some other that are brown but I have not tried them as I don't mind the black.

Cabelas is EXPENSIVE, but you can get an idea and look for it cheaper on another website.

I went by the Dick's Sporting Goods close to me to see if by any chance they had some different kind of pellets - nope!  But what they did have was slip-on recoil pads made by Butler Creek. They came in medium and large size in brown. The medium fit fine and for $16.99 gives me about another inch of LOP.  Terry

UMMMM - yeah that might work if you couldn't do anything else. Just kidding - that looks really nice. Also like the muzzle brake. Great work!  Terry

thanks, im just an electrician, but i have done it all myself.
By the way it is not a muzzle brake , it is a little device to skrew on a SILENSER ( wich by the way issnt legal in denmark) so it is only mounted when i shoot in the backyard, so i dont disturb the nabours.
