Marauder bolt handle
« on: November 16, 2009, 04:59:23 AM »
I was putting some pellets across the chrony this morning and the bolt handle came completely out.  Do I contact Crossman and send it back?  It does not seem to want to slip back into place (and if it did it would need some pretty strong adhesvie to keep it in place).  Seems like a pretty flimsy bolt.

I just called Crossman and they are sending me a new bolt.  It will be here in a couple of days.

Gotta give Crosman an "attaboy" for their customer service.

I've read that if you gently tap the old bold back in with a plastic mallet and use a bit of red loc-tite it will hold firmly.    Just in case you want to keep shooting until your new bolt arrives....

Jeff, I was pretty pleased with the service.  They right away asked if I wanted a new bolt shipped to me, which was great.  I usually expect to get the run around when I call a company, but not the case here.  Good tip about the lock-tite, but I will wait the couple of days to get the bolt.  I can tinker with my Logun MKII, or shoot the Diana 48 to keep me busy.  Since deer season ended I don't know what to do with the rest of  my vacation.  I need to go out and find some cottontails, lol.

When I hear, "Gotta give Crosman an "attaboy" for their customer service." It makes me think...

First, I must say Crosman customer service has been GREAT and does deserve kudos!  They have been standing behind their product. However.... someone needs to call them to task on some of the poor quality  products (fit and finish)  that they have been shipping.
When I saw the poor fit and finish of my first Marauder and then read "made in America" I was ashamed... Come on, who is checking this stuff as it leaves the factory.
