Disco Caliber Conversion
« on: November 17, 2009, 10:23:05 AM »
Well I just finished converting my .177 Disco into .22.Very easy..took about 20 minutes, had it sighted in,and shooting one holers within a half hour. It's nice to go back, and forth between calibers.Gotta love the Discovery!

I was wondering how much trouble it would be to change over the barrels on the Disco. With your experience it sounds like something I could do as well. Thanks for sharing.

Gene....It's like Geico says,"so easy a caveman can do it"

1] Degas gun

2] Remove safety spring. You can see it between the trigger block halves.I used a bent dental pick to pull the end out,so you can push the safety out.

3] Remove action from stock

4]Remove screw on the back of the trigger block.

5]Remove barrel band,and muzzle brake.

6}Remove rear breech screw, take out hammer spring, and cap,as well as rear bolt cap.

5]Unscrew bolt handle, and slide the bolt all the way back to expose the tiny 0.50 breech screw.

6]Separate the breech, and barrel assembly from the gas tube. You will see a brass sleeve, that rests in the breech seal.

7]Lube breech seal, then  loosen the screw that is directly in the center of the top of the breech. This will free the barrel.

8] Insert new barrel in the breech, line up the holes in the rear of the assembly, and tighten center breech screw to lock the barrel.

9]Lube new bolt o-ring,and place in on the new bolt, and reverse the above assembly process.

You only need three parts to do the  conversion.....barrel,bolt,and bolt o-ring for the caliber of your choice....grand total $24.09 from Crosman.....Enjoy!

Y'all really have me thinking that I NEED a Disco, Katana, and Marauder. Almost have me thinking about selling my B50.(Blasphemy!)

Wouldn't really sell my B50. Especially after the time and TLC I'm putting into her. I love PCPs. No twang, no recoil to keep you from seeing where your pellet hits. No hold sensitivity, grab her hard and hold on tight. Bipods don't adversely affect accuracy. No performance decrease in cold weather. Less weight and more power than comparable springers. What's not to love.
