Trigger tune- Ruger Air Hawk

I think that I may try a trigger tune on a air hawk with a very light trigger. Maybe add a heavier spring or something. Would I have to remove the spring, using a spring compressor, in order to remove the trigger assembly? Or is this something that a novice might want to try?   Thanks,, Ben . I hope I am clear, I meant the main spring for compression, not the trigger spring.

YES Ben,

A Spring Compressor is ALWAYS NEEDED !!!!! It will protect you from any spring that gets away from you The face, eyes and hands that you save, will thank you !!!!

I have no personal experience with the Air Hawk, nor have I read very much to say if it's easy or hard ! So I'm sure someone else will stop by with knowledge of tuning the Hawk and fill you in :)

If it won't adjust to what you consider a safe pull, you will need to take the gun down and check the trigger and the piston (?) where the sear catches. May not be the trigger.

Thanks to all for your responses. I truly believe that I will leave the tuning to those who have the expertise and skills. All I need is to be seen by my wife on all fours looking for trigger parts, while bleeding from a head wound caused by a spring traveling at 500 MPH. Thanks again. If I conclude that  having it tuned by a professional makes better sense than ordering a better rifle(which will probably need a tune also) Ugh!! where am I heading with this. I guess that I am addicted, I guess it beats cheap booze and cigarettes. Thanks again.
