All true, I suppose, but, I have accumulated more nice air rifles than I can regularly shoot and there are more than a few "brothers" on the GTA that I certainly trust and know well enough to say something like "here, shoot this one for a as long as you want and send it back when you are done". As a matter of fact, the big guy has one or two of my collection now, but that said, I probably owe him more than the value of the air rifles for all the help he has given me anyhow. Gene has a very pleasant habit of sending them back better than when I loaned it. I suspect there are others who have some talent along those lines.
Speaking of that, Dave, Timbo has my BSA Scorpion. Something to do with his new wood duplicator and using his fast emerging talents to make a custom LH stock with an adjustable comb high enough for me to get a decent cheek weld on the carbine. Can't loan you that one just yet. And as for the vintage 10M rifle, my Walther LGR-U is strictly lefty. I think you probably saw the Walther LGR I gifted brother Jerry in TX. Might PM him and see if he's swap for a while. Don't know how much he shoots his. Me, I would be hard pressed to loan out the Walther LGR-U. Like Gene says, it's one of the ones I sleep with. LOL.
I suppose I would be most comfortable doing an exchange with someone I had met face to face or someone I had done business with in the past. And there is a short list of folks I know well but have never met, for example Stephanie Peak Chick or Ed Shadow who would always be welcome. It would have to be more of an individual, person to person deal than some open ended "lets swap guns for a while" thread on the forums, I think. And to some extent, that is already going on.
