Was a Walther Talon Magnum .22 for sell, been couple of weeks back Gas Ram for $200.00 IIRC. It would kill the TF89 power wise.
HERE??? Or where???
Normal price for stock spring is $209.
Would love a gas piston one for $200!!!!

Ordered TF89
« Reply #31 on: November 25, 2009, 05:13:08 AM »
Okay folks, I pushed the button. I got some email responses and I appreciate all that folks sent. For the price and value, I went ahead and ordered a new TF89 from Compasseco. Heads-up.....when i pressed the button to pay, I got an immediate 10% off. Without putting in a code. So, gun cost me $134.99 + s/h. total was $155.
Excellent buyI think.
Thanks again for all the comments, advice and offers. Will post my progress with receiving, testing, tuning and chrony results.
Happy Shooting!!!!

Compasseco TF guns are hit or miss an worse their return policy sucks, takes 30 days to process a return or to get money back.
I ordered a TF 89 and it was a lemon, and have to wait forever to get my money back.
My friend had to send his TF 89 back 3 times until he finally got one thats shoots stright withthere bs return policy.

I just hope you get a working one.

I have not had problems with Compasseco's customer service on the contrary they have went out of they're way to please, my TF89 had a issue with the safety when I first received it and the stock cracked on me, they had me the part to fix the safety and a new stock out the next day! I will agree on hit and miss quality sometimes, my TF89 had a torn seal and spring fatigue within 2 weeks but I bought the gun with full intentions of having it tuned in the first place, but I still made them aware of the issue and they offered to send me a new gun or a new spring and seal whichever I preferred, I told them I was having the gun tuned so they sent me two Tech Force hats and Two of the little sx1 pistols free because they want happy customers and repeat customers, if they had not given me anything I would have still been satisfied but they really went beyond what any other company would have done.
Mike Melick tuned Bam B26,with  Leapers 4x16x40ao scope,Gene turbo tuned TF89 with Barska 3X12X40A0 scope and More powder burners than you can shake a stick at.                  Gun control is hitting what your aiming at

You will love the gun, if you really want to fully appreciate what it can do send it to Gene for a turbo tune and you will be AMAZED! This gun has some serious power and accuracy, good choice, I've scouted both of my airgun purchases very carefully and I love both of my rifles, my next gun will be scouted out just as much before I purchase it and this is the best place in the world to find out about any make and model of gun both the good and the bad, your fellow GTA members will tell you anything you want to know and help in any way they can

I am with the others.  I think they have very good customer service and ship very fast when they have the gun or item in stock, unlike P/A which ships 3-4 days after you place the order, unless you pay the $5 for "next-day processing".  I paid the $5 to P/A one time when I was out of a particular pellet, and they still shipped 2 days after I placed the order.

Some people may not know this but Compasseco is a very big company and were the #1 airgun reseller before P/A became very popular, but they are still big.  They have been around for a very long time (almost 20yrs I think).  A couple of years ago they were the largest RWS reseller and they might still be.  The only issue I have with them, is their hours which are like 9-5.. and you can't call them on Saturdays.  They should really stay open until 7 or 8pm at least a couple of days/wk.
Springers:

Diana 350 .22 (donated by Timmy!)

Air Force Condor .25 (Lemak)
CO2/Pump:
RWS Hammerli 850 .22
Crosman 2240 Custom .22
A few Crosman pumpers .177

What an ordeal. I finally got my hands on my new TF89. I won't get into all the details but just getting it took several phone calls and emails. I'm not at all happy with all the hoops I had to jump through to get the new AG. I got her home this afternoon with about 1 hour of daylight left. I rushed to get my camera and get her unboxed. I was at first impressed with the extras they shipped with it but on second look, it's really not that good of a quality of stuff but its usable. I do appreciate free stuff, if it's really worth my time and something I can really use. What they included was a flimsy pellet trap, 100 each 5-1/2" square targets and a 250 tin of TF wadcutters.
The rifle is almost identical to the Walther Force 1000. Furniture was a little darker but has grip and forearm checkering. Has the flourecscent lite grabbing iron sights and has the same spring loaded scope stop the Walther comes with. But, this one does not come with a scope. Rifle looked good after unpacking. Wood looked okay and blueing was deep and even. I had to forego my usual pre-shooting barrel cleaning since I was hustling to beat the sunset to get some shots through the chrony. I did check the barrel to see just how clean or dirty it was and to make sure there was no obstructions in there. All clear, lets go shoot. I set up the chrony and printer and fired 5 rounds of Gamo Rockets (14.6gr) and a 5 shot string of CPHP (14.5gr).
I have to keep reminding myself these are the FIRST rounds through this gun and it should settle out after I do my home tune and after the proper break-in. But, Gamo Rockets were VERY wide. Ranged from 677.99 to 776.96. I SHOULD have shot a 10 round string and thrown out the top and bottom but this was just a starting point before servicing. This gave me up to 19.5 in fpe. With CPHP there was less spread. Ranged frm 772.24 to 794.08 for a max fpe of 20.31. This is what I was after for a hunting AG, one that gives me 20+ fpe. After the tune, it should be a bit better and more stable after break-in.
The trigger had too much first stage travel. Break was crisp and did not hang or drag. I'll have time to tweak it after the tune and will polish the surfaces while I'm doing the power plant. So, the trigger should get better also. I did not attempt any accuracy tests considering I had no scope mounted yet and again, losing daylight fast. I did select a large leaf about 15 yards out on the ground. I hit exactly where I was aiming, a good quick test for barrel droop or bend. Will post more test results after I get the time to tear her down and service. So, overlooking the order processing and tracking issues, I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend it.
Happy Shooting & Shopping!!!!
Dave
