Help please!
« on: November 23, 2009, 11:30:00 AM »
Well, I happen to live in Chicago. And I own a RWS 350 .22. Get the idea? NO PLACE TO SHOOT IT!.

I found an indoor range here, but distance is 50 ft: short, and I can not shoot cans and stuff. There are some other ranges here, but either they charge an arm and a leg, or they do not allow airguns.
I am 27, I have some transactions on this site all with good reviews, I shot airguns all my short life (dad in the army) and I need to shoot somewhere.

Is there anyone willing to see me, get to know me and, if possible, allow me to shoot on their property every now and then? Farms, stuff like that is what I am looking for.
I will pay some (cash, beer, pellets, etc). I will drive as far as I can in 1.5 hours one way for it.

Also, is anybody else from around Chicago? Where do you guys shoot?

It might be a strange request, but it is my last resort. Please help a fellow addict in need :(
Thank you.

Sorry to hear about your problem. I am from florida,so inviting you to my house might be a little far for you.lol. I did a google search and found a private shooting club,howellshootingclub.com,that has a 100meter range open to airguns. As a member of a private club my self, the initial cost is a little high, but in the long run, having a place to shoot as much as you want is great. Also, you are shure to meet other members who you could talk to about other shooting opportunities.goodluck, snookman

I live less than an hour from downtown in NW Indiana (way more gun friendly state) I don't shoot much at all in the winter but in the summer I have a nice lane setup in the back,I have a quarter mile long lot,so room for long shots.I also know of a few outdoor ranges just over the line from you.One is the Isak Walton in Griffith,In. the other is Jasper Pulaski game preserve straight down US41.For indoor ranges check out Debs in Hammond In. or Blythes in Griffith,In..You'll find Indiana to be alot more gun friendly no matter where you are in the state.

I wish I was closer... My boys and I would love to have someone to shoot with. I am in southwest Wisconsin and that would be a 5 hours or so drive for you.

Good Luck.

Wish I could help you out. My range is very restrictive as to targets, being an outdoor firearms range which the years have seen slowly surrounded by houses. If I might make a suggestion - get yourself an indoor gun for whatever limited range you can configure (I shoot 10M in the basement) and that will tide you over until something turns up. Even a little 953 can take the edge off. And things do eventually turn up.
