One of Rush Limbaugh's callers had excellent commentary about scientific hypothesis and the scientific method.
Suppose one puts forward the theory that all swans are white. Going out and counting white swans doesn't prove the theory -- theories are put forward on the basis of the best available evidence, and then, one sets out to systematically see if the theory can be disproved. Finding even one black swan disproves the theory. Counting 1000 white swans does not prove the theory. The climate change folks are counting white swans. They have put forward a theory, and are counting swans, but they are blind to seeing any black swans -- worse, they are painting any black swan they find white using statistical manipulation and suppression of data and opposing opinion.
No matter what evidence is put forward (or data dumped), no scientific rigor to examine the theory of manmade global warming critically has occurred (only political and economic leverage has been exerted). The vast volume of evidence that disproves the theory, not the least of which is the last 10 years of climate cooling, past warming and cooling of the earth independent of industrial activity, solar activity, etc. absolutely disproves the political theory that climate change is manmade.
As with so many things political, the left has skillfully reversed the rules. So it is not necessary for them to support their theory of manmade global warming. They now insist that it is a certainty and will hear no evidence that it can be disproved, standing science on it's head. They shout down opponents as the frauds. They manipulate who gets funded and who gets published. They sell their science for a hand full of silver. Saul Alinski would be proud, but every climatologist, geologist, and scientist studying global warming with even an ounce of integrity should hang their head in shame!
The best way to get government funding is to claim an imminent disaster, and even better, and imminent disaster that has a potential government solution. The proponents of manmade global warming have earned millions and millions of dollars in funding for their "research" (mostly computer mathematical modeling and tree-hugging polar bear watchers). General Electric, in conjunction with the government, like Algore, is positioned to make billions in the new "green economy". Our "western lifestyle is unsustainable", and we must therefore certainly cede or freedom and way to life to the authority of the United Nations -- to make Americans pay reparations to fix the problem, while China, India and Russia are laughing their asses off!?
