CDT CFX pellet test..
« on: March 23, 2007, 11:17:17 AM »
..was done today. As you may know I recieved the CDT turbo-tuned and new trigger from him this week. OK.....drooling again.
I used Crosman 7.9 domes (from the brown box), Jsb predators, and Gamo Tomahawks. They all grouped well with not one "flier". I looked around and found some Gamo Rockets sitting in back of my pellet station as I call it. I went outside and put some fesh paper at 25 yrds and grabbed a beer and returned to my shootin station. First shot...dead center. I then decided to shoot a 10 shot group with the rockets.
OMG....never...ever have I ever shot a 10 shot group like this, (even with powder burners), and with Gamo Rockets? The gun must like em. Going to Wally World tomorrow to get some more! This rifle is now a class one shooter thanks to the CDT tune+ trigger. BTW....keep in mind that this rifle is not broken in yet! Only 125 pellets since the tune. I can only imagine what it will do at its peak :p

Great shooting!   8)      my CFX loves Rockets as well. After Rich tuned it, it likes
them even more. I think it's because of the tight fit and very uniform size
and weight. My groups don't look as sweet as yours though.... but a lot better
than with other pellets. http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=2289&mid=13769#M13769

Very nice shooting indeed !!  I have a couple of guns that like the rockets and shoot very tight groups with them.  I've used them on starlings and pigeons a few times at the duck farm I shoot at and they worked well.

You got a good "shooter" there,,, enjoy it..  :)

Thanks guy's. Yea Ed, they got the b.b. in them. I think the tin I bought was a 500 ct. Not one problem. All pellets were smooth and intact. Time to buy some more. it's funny how a gun that shoots to its potential can boost your confidence so much :)

You can get them here: http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/pellet.pl?pellet_id=423
They come in tins of 150 .... pretty expensive, but they work so well I don't even think
of cost.
They sell them at Walmart too.
If you really get stuck I could send you a tin  :)
I have shot over a 1000 of these now and have never even found a deformed one
and never one with a lose bb either. They are the best quality pellet GAMO makes.
in fact to be honest I dislike most GAMO pellets because generally they are pretty
rough, but these are really nice, clean and very well made.

Have you seen the new pellets that Crossman is coming out with. They have a pellet that is 10.5 grains and it is a pellet that is a design with the BB in the nose and also a tomahawk type pellet. A new non lead hollow point and a wad cutter. Midshouth has them listed and they should be out soon.
I have them on back oder along with 10 tins of .20 FTS's,  and when they are released I'll test them and report.

Here's a link to them.

Hey Rich, I don't know about you but I have some of those pellets with the bb in the head and I was not impressed with there accuracy with any of my guns..:)

Note: It would be nice if the real pellets looked just like those pictures on the Crosman site.. lol... Dang it Rich, stop buying all those .20 cal pellets out at Midsouth..

Sounds good, Rocket clone at 10,5 it'll be great for the 350 and 1250. I'll have to try those.
