Crosman 1077 on other compressed air?
« on: December 04, 2009, 01:56:32 PM »
Just saw a Crosman 1077 repeater with air source CO2 cartridges. Any way to use compressed air or nitrogen rather than CO2 on one of these? CO2 just doesn't cut it in cold weather.

You could always drill and tap the closed end of an empty Airsource tank to take a male QD fitting with integral check valve. You can then use a hand pump to pump it up to 1,100-1,800 psi.  Or you could use an HPA tank to refill it.There's someone online who's selling refillable Airsource carts with a pressure gauge.Refillable aluminum CO2 tanks are rated for a WORKING pressure of 1,800 psi, which is the pressure CO2 will attain in really hot weather. The Airsource carts should be at least as thick as 12 gram powerlets, and they're thicker than the tube on a QB78.
