To dump my post in the Non-Productive Posts trash can?  And without even the minimum courtesy of saying who you are and why you did it.  And if Douglas' response about whether this is a forum about airguns was the trigger, need I remind you that the purpose of the Back Room is to have a place to bring up stuff NOT airgun related?  I made a post about something that really bugs me, something a lot of us have used the Back Room for.  And it was having exactly the desired effect, it was making people think and look at their own posting practices.  I can think of at least one person that helped trigger that post (who shall remain nameless) who has already cleaned up his act.  I'm sure there are more, but I was PO'd enough this morning when I saw my post had been moved that I just logged out and went to check out what was happening on the YF.   It occurred to me that, as a moderator on this forum, I could have simply moved it back, but that seems pretty juvenile.  That said, I think whoever is responsible owes me an apology, and the courtesy of a reasonable explanation for your action.  If you don't have a good explanation, then put the damn thing back where it belongs.

I may have not moved your post to theNon Productive Post File, but I wanted to.

As I explained in my first response to your post, many of our members are from foreign countries where English is not their native language. And some of our members are not as lucky as you and I, to have fairly good understanding of the English language.

I do not believe that this is the place to vent our pet peeves, but rather accept each other as we are.

Over the years I believe this is your third post that you have made on members spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors, and I do not believe that this is the place for venting your pet peeves.

I just took a QUICK overview of your post in the non productice "Room". First off,,,, you make some valid points. Second of all,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I Am myself not so edgumacated & I type with one finger.:0 I make ALL kinds of "Gramatical" errors typing but,,,, my FRIENDS here know what I am saying. In the original post, I thought that what was said did have some merit but at the same time our forum is not based on perfection and perfect grammar. I also thought that it would be controversial. However............... Once a post has been placed in the non-productive file, regardless of whoever the moderator was that moved it there, no moderator has the right to "simply" move it back or into any of the other forums. If a post is moved into the non-productive file and it becomes an issue, only Gene, myself or Peak Chick will move it after reviewing it and then discussing it. It is seldom that a moderator moves any post to the non-productive file (we suggest that they do not) and then only with a justifiable reason. We would rather the post be brought to the attention of the administrators and the move be done by the administrators if need be. That said, there have been a couple of occasions that posts/threads were moved to the non-productive file by moderators and we, the administrators felt they were without a doubt, justified. And Dave, you would not have been able to move it as you are not on the moderator or moderator permission list.  CDT

Hey Daved, I can understand your greivence about posts being moved here and there,.....it's happenned to me on more than one occassion,...even after I admitted that it should be posted in another 'gate'. My point was to reach out to as many folks as possible in the general airgun gate. Let's face it,...like I was in the beginnig,...most of the newer folks (at least I believe) don't visit each and every gate. But I guess someone out there thought my ideology of getting me messege out meant nothing so to speak. OK,...whatever. I'm sorry I didn't read your thread,...but I tend to veer away from the 'back room" and 'religion and politics' gates. Knowing from your past threads on the GTA,...I know for a fact that you are a very knowledgeable  individual,..and I take alot in what you say. I will have to agree with you on the 'common courtesy' issue of "who moved my post ?" argument though. But in the end,...I really could care less who moved my post(s) to what  and where. I'll just continue on shooting my bb-guns and relax the best way I can,....murdering beer cans and spoons!!!!! BTW, if you're interested in a pellet trade,...I've got some Crosman Premier 'Ultra Magnum' 10.5's?!? They nor the RWS Super-Mags worked in my B-28!!!!!! That's fine, Bill, if you're not the one that moved my post, you're not the one I have an issue with.  But since you chimed in, I guess you deserve a response.

As I already said, Bill, this wasn't aimed at our non-English speaking members. I don't have your facility with Spanish, or any other language that isn't English.  But then, I'm also not trying to communicate in Spain, or Mexico, or Russia.  That said, I applaud those that at least try.  My issue is with those that grew up speaking English, but still don't try.

As to this not being the place to air our pet peeves, if not in the Back Room, then where?  As I understand it, other than politics or religion, pretty much anything goes here, as long as it's reasonably respectful.  I think I met that standard.

You said this is my third post on this subject.  I just did a search on my name with the words grammar, spelling, and punctuation.  The only post that came up was the one under discussion.  That search was on ALL posts to this forum.  As my history on this forum goes back a bit farther than yours, could you tell me what the other two posts are?

You and I have butted heads before, Bill, not sure why, I guess we just rub each other wrong.  Too bad, but it happens.  I still think my original post had merit, and I think whoever moved it was hasty, at best.  And I'm still waiting to hear from whoever that was.  Later.

As a member air gunner, I find you one of the most knowledgeable members we have ! I have enjoyed and learned from each of your many posts ! Just as you have never insulted or ridiculed a member for having a RustedDaisy Red Rider B.B. gun, I can't see why for the life of me you would would insult and ridicule anyone for their lack of mental ability, education, command of the English language or just plain laziness.

Like you, I fight sometimes to read, and re-read a few post, just to comprehend their meaning. And a few times I just had to give up trying ! But I could never insult a member by telling them to learn to use the English language to communicate here better.

I guess I am just disappointed that anyone would attack anyone here on this forum, for any reason at all, as longthey abide bythe GTA rules.

Not sure how it applies, Tim, but you're correct, I did offer my resignation as a moderator, but Gene asked me not to.  Maybe that will change after this hoorah, seems like this subject punched some buttons I hadn't anticipated.  Bill seems to think that what I've said is an insult and/or an attack on members of this forum.  From where I'm standing, that's tantamount to saying it's okay to be lazy and bad to call someone on it.  Seems odd to me, but if that's the consensus opinion, my offered resignation is still out there, all it takes is Bob or Gene to accept it.  If ya'll think I'm enough of a hard a$$ that you want me gone, now's your chance to make it happen.  Seems like everything is cool if I have some nugget of information to pass on, but stating my opinion just pi$$es people off.  And if you're wondering, yeah, that pi$$es ME off.

Bill, I've written and erased this response several times, now.  But it's finally occurred to me that if you haven't gotten my point by now, nothing else I say is going to get it across.  If telling someone they're lazy is a worse thing than actually being lazy, I'm just beating my head against the wall.  If that's your idea of ridicule or an insult, then you and I really don't speak the same language.  I guess you're not the only one that's disappointed.

For what it's worth I did not see it as an insult or an attack on anyone. I agree with your original post that anyone can take the time to compose a message that is well written and easily understood. It takes the same amount of time and effort to do something properly as it does to do it wrong. For the most part I think it is bad habits and laziness. This is just my opinion of course.

Dave,,,,, I don't visit the "back room" often and rarely do I ever post here.  I read the posts periodically but that's about it, but I have been following this  thread.  

Just wanted to let you know that I didn't move your post nor am I privy as to why it was moved.  I certainly understand you being upset for not having the moderator who moved it "pm" you, I do feel that courtesy should always be extended in such instances, however I would hate to see this issue create a rift between members who have been friendly and civil to each other for so long.  

I'm sure this issue will eventually be resolved but in the meantime I truly hope that the "emotions" being felt on all sides will subside and long established friendships will not suffer.
