NEW GAMO Dynamax .177 Multishot Pre-Charged Pneumatic Gun
« on: December 10, 2009, 12:17:25 AM »
Gamo has finally used the BSA owned PCP line of rifle to jump in the UC PCP market.  It's a BSA Sportsman HV with the BSA Scorpion synthetic stock & BSA muzzle break.  retails on Gamos' website for $699.  Comes in .177 only.

Looks nice, and if it's a re-labeled BSA then it should be a very nice gun. I was/am hoping it would cost less though. But that's the MSRP from the Company website, it may cost less at the retailers. The only issues I see thus far are it's only available in .177 (for now) and it has no shroud. If they shroud it, and make it .22 plus lower the price some, it may be a very viable ( a BSA in Gamo clothing) PCP for those on a budget.

Not a bad looking rifle.  Interesting to say the least.  I agee with Nathan in that I'd like to see a shroud and .22 caliber, but otherwise I like the looks.   Has a nice lethal "tactical" look to it   :emoticon:

Looks good.  And if it`s a multi-shot....their clip is not well above the receiver.....so the scope and scope mount can be closer to the receiver.  Would like a barrel band on it though.....the barrel sticking out all alone out there looks fragile.

Agreed on the barrel looking fragile, you'd have to be extra careful to not bend the thing accidentally.

What do you get for your $699. besides the air rifle?  Is a pump included?   Or anything else?    Barrel seems lonesome hanging out that far unsupported.  However, it has the looks.

The barrel is a free floated barrel which is found on just about all match & field target rifles.  look how long the front of the breech block is to support the barrel.  Usually it is held in place by 2 or 3 set screws.  the clearance also makes it easy to add a BSA shroud as it does not come with one.  Pyramyd Air will be offering these in the near future.

Think they would have left the beeman trigger group in there, or replaced it with everyone's favorite gamo trigger?

If it`s a BSA clone or copy, I sure hope they have the BSA trigger on it. The trigger of my BSA Scorpion T-10 is superb. And I think Gene and PeakChick would second that on their BSA`s.

I talked to Gamo customer service today about the loudness of this rifle and they told me it was as loud as any other rifle they sell.  To me, it meant loud.  It looks very nice and beautiful but it is not an option for me until they make them quiet, and I mean quiet not like the whisper.

Note: I made an iquiry to a well-known retailor about BSA rifles and he told me that BSA was acquired by another company.  Do we need to make a guess?

I was under the impresison that BSA was acquired by Gamo a few years ago, hence this gun basically being a re-badged BSA offering, sold under the Gamo name.  Regardless, the gun in question doesn't do it for me in any way.

It's not a clone or copy guys.  GAMO owns BSA, they have for several  years now.  It's a re-badge to get in the PCP game under the GAMO name in the USA.  I also called GAMO today & got all the info.  They will be a .22 version coming out very soon & all the BSA add ons of course will work with the gun since it is a BSA gun in GAMO clothing.

1st pic is the Sportsman HV.  The Dynamax uses the everything but the stock of this gun. The 2nd pic is the Scorpion.  The Dynamax uses this stock & muzzle break.

I actually really like the black synthetic stock on it. It has a unique, aggressive look. At first I noticed how the barrel was out there "all alone" but the BSA pcp guns are designed that way and all I've ever heard about them is good things. :)
I'm eager to find out a release date and see what accessories( ie pump) will come with the rifle and what it will be sold for.
