.25 cal Gamo Pellets
« on: December 10, 2009, 02:43:44 PM »
Gamo now has 4 .25cal pellets listed on their website. According to the website 2 are “hi performance alloy” and 2 “hi performance lead”. They do not list the weight of any of them. One is called the PBA Platinum, and it cost like the real deal. They are listed at $14.95 per 50. That’s $149.50 for a tin of 500. That’s center fire ammo prices, and for air gun pellets. I could not afford to shoot them even if I wanted to try them. The other 3 types are pretty pricey too. I know Gamo makes a .25cal Hunter dome lead pellet. I was hoping that one would be imported here. Looks like Gamo is going to try to sell their .25cal guns by advertising with the “PBA” pellets. The guns will probably have unobtainable and ridiculously high velocity figures to help with sales as well. Too bad.

I've been fortunate enough to actually have done a tune on a .25 cal and do some fps testing with one brand of Gamo pellet's. The Gamo Extreme .25 advertised fps numbers are not that far off with lead pellet's. The Extreme advertises 730fps with 19.6gr pellet's and 730fps with 25gr + pellet's. The Gamo Pro Magnum pellet's weigh 21.91gr and I'm looking into the weight of the Rocket's. I've had good result's with both of these pellet's in .177. Ed

I also have to say that Gamo has done a very good Job with there new pellets. I have a 25 Caliber Hunter Extreme and have shoot at least two tin of there Pro Magnum pellets with good result. Fortunate for me Ed has the .25 in for a tune and I am very sure it will be better than before.

Ozell  the tune turned out great and it was my pleasure to speak with over the telephone to discuss the work on the Extreme .25. :) Hopefully more pellet manufactures will push out the .25 pellet although I do realize that .25 owner's are not as numerous yet as the .177 and .22 owner's. I'm looking at a .25 shooter down the road for myself now hehe and by then maybe they will punch out the Predator in .25. :o  :) Ed
