Dicks Sporting Goods
« on: December 20, 2009, 10:31:35 PM »
Peruesing through the Sunday's paper advetising flyers and saw they were offering the G-1 Extreme anda Winchester rifle for $99. With the newer AG enthusiasts looking to jump into the tuning phase, the G1 is a great rifle to start with. I don't know if they are equipt with the "new and improved" trigger. If not,...now would be a great time to snatch one up and toss in a GRT-III trigger for the much needed "prerequisite mod". Of all the synthetic stocked econo rifles,..the G1 has the most solidly built stock. I didn't even need the stuff mine with anything after the tune I performed on it. Shoots a very consistant 850 fps' with RWS SD's. Just thought I'd pass the word on, tjk

I agree with ya Thomas,,,,, the G-1 is a great entry level rifle, a great shooter, easy to work on and definitely has the nicest synthetic stock that I've seen.  I loved mine right outa the box and the home tune just made it even better.....

Crosman got it right with the G1 Extreme.  Affordably priced, accurate, not too heavy or loud and it's powerful....mine is shooting in the mid-900fps range.  As the above posters mentioned the synthetic stock is great also....none of the hollow sound like the Gamos.  Get the "older" version with the stamped metal trigger so you can upgrade to the excellent GRT III trigger.
